I knew Goodnight Punpun was depressing going in, and I still felt like I wasn't prepared. Finished it recently and agree that it's a fantastic character study and has absolutely gorgeous (and disturbing) art, but it's not something that I would reread--at least, not for a long time.

So, I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks that way about goodnight punpun. I would like to at least finish the series since I started it, but got to mentally prepare myself. I also agree that it has fantastic character study, it highlights things that happen in some people’s reality and I appreciate the mangaka for showing light to that. I know a lot of animes/manga steer clear of that route. I just hope for a happy ending but highly doubt it :/ and oh yeah, I don’t think that series is reread-able. I feel like once you experience it once, that’s enough (for me personally.)

I'd definitely recommend you both the anime and manga of Paradise Kiss if you haven't got into it yet !! it's only one big volume, and the anime is also only 12 episodes (but the actual ending isn't animated so make sure to read the manga, i love the art style of Ai Yazawa's works

That collection is awesome. I’ve been collecting mangas for six years, and even much, much longer because I started getting them for the first time in 2011 when a friend gave me a Naruto manga. As far as my collection now, I have all of Naruto, all the current volumes of Boruto, all of Fullmetal Alchemist, Dragon Ball, all the current omnibuses of One Piece, a few volumes of Bleach, all of Yu Yu Hakusho, all the currently made volumes of Hunter x Hunter, every single Yu-Gi-Oh! volume as well as all the spin-off mangas of it, I’m working on finishing Rurouni Kenshin, I have all the current ones for My Hero Academia, One-Punch Man, all of Dr. Stone, Food Wars, Assassination Classroom, Demon Slayer, The Promised Neverland, some of Jujutsu Kaisen, Slam Dunk, Haikyu, D.Gray-Man, Chainsaw Man, Spy x Family, Kaiju No. 8, Shaman King, Toriko, Gintama, Blue Exorcist, Undead Unluck, all of the current volumes of Black Clover, the first volumes of all the JoJo parts so far, some of Inuyasha and Yashahime, all of Fairy Tail, The Seven Deadly Sins, as well as all the Colossal Editions of Attack On Titan and all the Deluxe Editions of Berserk. I’m hoping to get a box set for Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul: Re. A good amount of these were hard to get since some weren’t sold where I am, I had to order some series from America like Yu Yu Hakusho, Shaman King, Toriko and Gintama. I like to have all my Shonen Jump mangas together and I personally prefer getting omnibus versions of manga so a lot of the ones I listed are in 3 in 1 omnibus editions. I wish a lot more had omnibuses, but I’m still super happy with my collection and can’t wait to get more.

I loved your perfectly succinct yet informative af descriptions about each series- it was done so well and was enjoyable to watch. This was one of the best I’ve seen thus far…you should write lil review blurbs for manga/anime lol! Just a perfect amount of info to tell us about them without spoiling anything 👌🏻✌🏻✌🏻(btw, atelier is pronounced like uh-tell-eee-ay 🤗🤗 moonlit is lit not light hehe I’ve noticed a lot of folks say it as moonlight but it’s moonLIT lol and I’d want someone to lmk I hope you don’t mind 🫣🤗💕💕💕). Ooh ooh check out Wandering Witch-Journey of Elaina if you like Atelier. Dress-Up Darling may have some “provocative” imagery but the actual story is very cute and Marin is sooo precious lol the manga is definitely not shmexy in story the way some of the imagery is. ☺️☺️☺️

My first manga I ever bought was naruto and my friend got me jjk volume 1. kaiju no 8 is a banger because we have an older mc who still wants to be somebody. I also like spy family is about found family can be as important as family related by blood. hxh is great and I want to cosplay gon or killua in the near future. I recommend the anime, bungou stray dogs, carole and tuesday, 86, and deca dence. I really love blue lock, blue lock has so many good lessons in it, love the mc.

Kaiju no8 is so good I feel like I pick up a volume and I’m done reading it before I even realise. I am a pun pun fan but man yeah going into that with no trigger warnings is a lot and your friend wasn’t lying it does get darker. The apothecary diaries is so good, it sucks how long we have to wait for the next volume 😭 I feel the same about such long series like I could get multiple smaller series and have more variety for that money, it’s a space issue too. I’m reading a lot atm but shoujo wise I am enjoying ima koi and a condition called love.

But now I am a bit nervous since it does get worse in the remaining volumes. and right!! Idk why but I confused goodnight pun pun with dead dead demons destruction, so I was reading it and was really confused then I realized my mistake >.< omg yes The apothecary diaries takes forever to translate English volumes like maam pls hurry up 😭 and you get me so well, collecting larger volumes is cool but it will be harder to complete and take more money. Like you said, I’d like to get more bang for my buck and get a wider variety of series. And please don’t get me started on space!! I think you have convinced me to get that kind of shelf for my manga, Because I hate how bendie they get if you just use the thin metal book ends (which I stupidly told my dad to buy off amazon), Like legit convinced my ass to ask him to get that bookshelf for my Birthday or for Christmas (which is sadly 8 months away, insanely hoping the curved type bend doesn't become permanent during that time) now all I have to do is be patient :D !!

Okay I have to recommend some things again lol as I watched further…Since you like Apothecary Diaries, I think you may like Raven of the Inner Palace (anime). Another anime/manga (although only in Japanese so far) that deals with shyness is my preciousssss Aharen-san wa hakarenai (BEST GIRL…she looks exactly like Kanna from Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, which is another AMAZING and hilarious anime/manga series that I adore), HitoriBocchi (the most adorable lil shy, innocent baby…I mean she legit plans out her entire morning walk to school to try to keep from talking to folks hehe aww but she makes it her goal to finally make friends so that’s the story arc…very wholesome), and Bocchi the Rock (yes another bocchi lol since it literally translates to lonely) about a girl who loves playing guitar but is severely anxious in social settings so it’s about her trying to be in a band…precious! As for classic shoujo manga- Quintessential Quintuplets, A Couple of Cuckoos, Kaguya-Sama Love is War (SO good both as a manga and an anime…highly recommend), 😊More Than a Married Couple not Yet Lovers (I wish there was a second season…I don’t think there’s a manga though), The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten (anime, if you want some diabetes-level of cuteness and wholesomeness than this is for you plus the main girl is a cute bebe). I hope you discover something new from these recs and get a new favorite! Great video 💕💕💕(Also, if you want something outside of your preferences and to read/watch something older then these three are GREAT: Himouto!Umaru-chan(just look at her! Gaaaa lol she’s perfect at school but at home she transforms into this lazy bb who loves soda, chips, video games and laying about while her loving brother takes care of the home…hilarious premise honestly), Rozen Maiden(different from any other manga/anime..it’s about these STUNNING dolls that come to life once a human winds them up and there’s basically a war of the dolls going on…just aesthetically beautifullll and unique story with a sassy protagonist in Shinku), and Chobits (a cult classic! It’s fun to see how the art style was so difficult 20 years ago hehe but it’s about a country boy in the city who finds a human “computer” lol so in this world everyone has full-size human computers instead of smartphones and he finds one in the trash and she’s just the most adorable creature ever named Chi…cuz at first she can only say…chi! Chi! Chiiiii! 🥰so cute damn it lol all the “persocoms” (PCs..,get it lol) are adorable too…there’s mini “mobile” ones lol I’m halfway through the anime now. It’s on CRoll). Phew! Okay that’s all for now since I wrote an essay 🫣🫣🤣

Hi! I don’t do anything special to keep my books in good condition honestly >.< My bookshelf is facing my windows so ik it’s going to yellow sooner or later sadly. But I try not to keep liquids near them and don’t use my humidifier in there. As for scuffed edges, try not to force your books in and be gentle with them! (Sorry I’m still kind of new to manga collecting and I’m not too knowledgeable ahhh!!) Also not a weird question! Thanks so much for asking and watching the video!!!🥹

@patriciasucks thank you for replying :)) Ahh I said to myself I'm gonna be gentler after reading the comment, then all the books fall onto eachother like dominos 🙃 Idk how the humidity is where you are, but for me it was constantly at 60, so we finally got like, a real big dehumidifier, and now my humidity within like 30 mins will go down to 50!! So uhh I recommend that if you ever have problems with humidity 😅

I couldn't get into Punpun coz I thought Punpun was kinda annoying🙈. But yeah, he was a kid/teen, that made sense. My completed series are Haikyuu, Kimetsu no Yaiba, and Cells at Work. The finished series I'm still collecting are Fullmetal Alchemist, Dorohedoro, and Golden Kamuy. And the ongoing ones are Land of the Lustrous, The Summer Hikaru Died, Mob Psycho 100, One-Punch Man, Gokushufudou, Gangsta., and Nozaki-kun. I have a few loose Japanese and English ones I thrifted. And a buncha Junji ito books. And I don't wanna collect Naruto, but I want a few volumes lol.
