Yeah that's fair i.m.o If you watch the body of work Anthony Davis put together in his the last two seasons before he left Sacramento, and you look at his exceptionally good performance during the title run at the bubble, it's clear that Davis is a historically great forward that can be compared in greatness to players like Tim Duncan that played the same position. Can you mention Kyrie in the same breath as Duncan? Naaaa. Come to think of it, it's absolutely mind blowing to think that in that title winning season with LeBron, Davis scored 26.1 ppg in the regular season, and scored 27.7 during the playoffs in which he was absolutely excellent almost all through, but still LeBron was clearly the better player all through 😂 That just shows how absurdly good Bron is. Edit: *New Orleans not Sacramento

@@Deannnn02 i hope so too. But i put some of the blame on his injury situation on him. If you know a little about fitness in athletes you'll be disappointed by the appearance of Davis at the beginning of the season. The muscle definition on him clearly showed he didn't put in the work required to come in tip top shape. He probably would have been less injured if he upped his fitness

I mean Kyrie did talk about what had happened ever since leaving Cleveland. His first season at Boston he had suffered a massive knee injury that had left him out for the rest of the season, even missing the playoffs. The second season in Boston, he was dealing with the loss of his grandfather that he was close with. He still says this season was a let down tho. After that season, he joined BKN. First season, he only played 20 games and didn’t have KD for the entire season. The next season in BKN, they had both JH and Kyrie go down with an injury. We can’t ignore circumstances when we criticize players for not winning.

But Kyrie is going to be looked back on as a player who could score but was always focused on that over what the team needed for overall success. Even when he won the ring, he was prone to turnovers when he went dribble happy.

Celtics played better without him, he refused to go to the bubble while healthy and tried to go behind the players back against the decision voted by the PLAYERS in the playoffs missed Bucks series barely played this year and flamed out vs Celtics. You combine his bad chemistry, unavailability and refusals to play and teams are starting to decide he’s not worth the trouble. On top of that every couple of weeks he’ll say something to stir things up so he’s also a PR nightmare at times but when he plays in the right mindset he’s a top 15 player in this league but that’s a lot of buts.

Brian Windhorst got unprecedented access to Lebron as a high schooler, his first run in Cleveland and when he initially went to Miami. Once Lebron and his four horseman started to get their autonomy and wanted to tell their own stories, they phased Windhorst out. So any thing he says that would allude to him knowing any of the inner workings or details of personal conversations about what Lebron was/is thinking or feeling have no real validity. He’s just, like the others, tapping into “sources” and piecing together a narrative.

When Lebron went to Miami they made him the Lebron in Miami guy. When Lebron went to Cleveland notice who wrote that “I’m coming home” piece. Salute to players like Pat Bev and JJ Redick holding it down in this media light. We need more of this! People who actually have played the game standing up for and respecting other players instead of these media clowns just talking just to have a segment. The media stay wanting to talk down on Kyrie because of decisions he decided to make for himself that they don’t/didn’t agree with. It’s not about y’all. Just because the man may not have won another championship since leaving the cavs doesn’t mean whatever Kyrie set out to do “hasn’t worked”. Like he said, he was a young 20 something year old who felt like he wanted to experience what the rest of the league was like. Let this man live his life.

JJ doesn’t fit that media role, he gets upset way too easily and tries to go at Stephen A in an emotional manner, Mad Dog Russo is better fit especially for First Take

I am going to have to push back on that. This conversation got started because Kyrie was expressing regrets about leaving LeBron and the Cavaliers. He left because he thought he could do better professionally without Lebron and the Cavaliers. Since his departure from the Cavaliers in 2017(?), the Cavaliers had gone to one more NBA finals and LeBron two.

Nah, if I wanted to hear from players, they have channels, social media, interviews etc. etc. Pat Bev just sounds angry 90% of the time. It not as entertaining making fun of “analyst’s when there’s players doing it for us, TBH.

i love seeing Pat Bev on espn cuz his comments and words are honestly true opionions from a dude that is gonna speak his heart/mind regardless of what others wanna hear or expect him to say. i think people are demanded to say what espn tells them too say nomatter if they agree or not cuz they want people to say "Only" what they have writen down for them to say which to me is BS. respect honest opionions and people who think for themselves which who is Pat Bev is which is Great if u ask me.
