When I was in the UK back in 79, you couldn't escape this song. It was literally everywhere. You heard it on the radio every time you turned it on, at the store, on the street, and on TV. When I finally escaped to the continent, the first thing I heard in my headphones was this. Thinking I was finally free of this cursed song in Germany, I turned on the radio but there it was again. A few days later I crossed into East Germany only to be tormented by Patrick Hernandez exclaiming why he was born. This followed throughout my travels to Ukraine and even Russia. You could not hide from this song that summer.

1978, I was 16 years old when this banger came out. Five years later, I was 21, it was still playing in all the disco clubs. Along with Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, Thelma Houston, the Bee Gees, Barry White, The Village People, The Tramps, who can forget their 10-minute version of, Disco Inferno 🔥🔥🔥 and so many more incredible singers. ♥️💚🩵🩷💙💜 Its now, 11 June 2024 - I'll be 62 in July and I still dance to this in the house, and listen to this and ALL the fabulous music from the, 60s, 70s and 80's, whilst driving my hot, V6 Holden VF Commodore. We had the VERY BEST Music; Rock, Pop and the halcyon days of Disco...!! How the hell did I finish University, get a job and still go out clubbing, dancing all night long on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and be fresh for work Monday - I'll never know. Took me 4 years to find this song, heard it in tenerife in 2017 twice once at a bar and the next day at siam Park, I went out my way to try an catch a few lyrics but it was too loud and I was hungover with a headache and what not, searched everywhere for it hummed the tune to people and into various apps on my phone to find it but nothing, 4 years later and about 15 mins ago it came on the radio an I could hear the lyrics, a quick Google and KZbin search later I was here writing this comment feeling absolutely fantastic like a weights been lifted 🙌🏽
