It’s entirely possible that the linesman brought it straight to Chicago’s equipment staff and that thing is sitting in Kane’s collection, and the mystery is a redirection so that the HHOF doesn’t try to claim it.

Interesting. Why would anyone place presumably stolen diamonds in a racecar on an active track? Could have just put it in a locker but just couldn't resist the supervillain convoluted plan and now you don't have any diamonds dummy

i think it's commonly known the particular ref took it. once read a good long article about it on ESPN. a shame for Kane and for hockey history. that puck honestly wouldn't even go to Kane, i think that's straight to the HHoF.

Presumably the puck (like everything with Chicago Blackhawks) was meant to be set aside for retail sale. Pucks, gloves, sticks, it all was in a big pile to be signed and sold off later on. Linesman grabs the gear. It’s given to someone in the Chicago organization and Kaner takes it home in his suitcase where it sits on his mantle.

What’s the mystery? The linesman took it. You have it on video. There’s no way he lost it or forgot about it. The only question is: Its either in his house, likely surrounded by other stuff he grabbed from games, or he sold it.
@grayhudson1095
@grayhudson1095 7 ай бұрын
the thing is, how could he sell it? that's like a federal crime. bc it would have gone for real money, and it wasn't his. plus whoever bought it could hardly display it, so what's the point? sports memorabilia is a not that huge fraternity, someone would know.

Pretty mind boggling by how this puck disappeared all the sudden cause everyone on TV can see that the ref yanked it out and it is STILL missing to this day and they were so desperate to find it they were offering a giant cash prize for the one who happened to find it!!! Who knows if it'll ever be found by anyone I mean pucks are so small it can be anywhere

Wouldn't stealing the puck make it lose all value? You have to prove provenance or something like that is worthless. I guess someone could have just kept it for a souvenir but seems like a big risk. This makes me agree with DZ's take that there is probably an innocent explanation and the puck just got lost.
@grayhudson1095
@grayhudson1095 7 ай бұрын
no way did it get lost. have you ever seen a first goal or a 1000th point? they grab up the puck instantly, it's a whole huge preoccupation. the officials or any staff they gave it to would have been extra careful w that important an item. your other point is correct, if stolen, how does a ref resell that? that's a major crime.
@mat5473

Ref was when last person seen with the puck, said he never touched it, 8 months later footage comes out, and he refused any and all interviews. He %1000 took tge puck. Where it ended up? Who cares, the memory is nore valuable than a peice of vilcanized rubber. If it did end up with Kane, i think that it's the best place for it, the sentimental value is his alone. Better than a bunch of morons selling it off to each other for time immemorial. I love sports, but I've always seen memorabilia as a thing for rich idiots to flip to other rich idiots.
