@@89Brandon08 Yeah it's not like he forced himself to NY at the trade deadline. Better yet, it's not like he said during closeout interviews for the NYRs that this is where he wants to be and that he will love to return if the team can find a way to make that happen. If Rangers matched that offer, he'd be in NY rn. Rangers just didn't have cap space and didn't want him to mess with team chemistryp

Patrick message for you. Your my favourite player. I have issues with my stride style as mine is most critiqued. My issue after my big toe fracture is exact same as your ….hips and mobility and lowness on the backwards. I’m a right winger and I chose not to play and stay within my hockey business though. I’m gonna try super feet and girdle instead of pants. Great choice Patrick Kane on picking Detroit!

It's only a 1 year deal at 2.5 or so million so if it doesn't work out, it's fine. Red Wings got a low-risk contract with this one for extra manpower on the forward core. Should have no regrets for trying and there's no reason for this to backfire. It's either a nothing signing or a splendid bargain.

Psyched to have him with the WIngs. He's a legend and will be money with the speed the Wings have this year. Him, Larkin and DeBrincat on the same line would be tough to beat. Will be interesting to see how the lines actually shake out once he starts playing in the games.

Seeing a lot of comments with a similar theme about this deal. Why hasn’t he gone to a contender, no one else would have him, etc, etc. This is a low risk move for Yzerman, I’d say probably more upside than down. And on being in contention for the cup, sure, Wings are definitely not a favourite but there’s a lot of objectively better or proven teams lower down the standings right now. Wings are slowly building but this is a player you’d rather have in than out.

Wings playoff odds are now over 72% and theyd have to drop 10 points over the rest of the season at this point to not make the playoffs and they are too good to have a slide like that. Odds are he gets extended, especially since 4/5 of Detroits prospects are killing it in the AHL and they will be even better next season. so i wouldnt count on it. I don't understand all the hate happening around this signing. Regardless of whether it was a signing of "whoever would take me", or a signing of "let me prove I can play", he's still making the effort to be active and prolong his career. Coming from a life long RW fan, its definitely weird having him on our roster. The Red Wings have been mid for a while, and him signing with us isn't going to put us in a playoff chance in the slightest. Its not night and day BUT, he is an established HOF that should jive well with our team. I hope he's able to pick up better then where he left off, and make a veteran impact on our younger guys.

Every comment here before mine is apparently from ignorant Gen Z people. Kane is 35 and he respects the organization because they're excellent. They became bad because it's inevitable after a long run of dominance and they didn't fire Ken Holland when they should have. Yzerman is in charge and the Ilitch family still owns the team. They're going to become great again under that leadership and Kane knows it. Also Yzerman didn't need to be gifted 1st overall picks to get back into playoff contention.
@rivahkillah
@rivahkillah 10 ай бұрын
He's also taken years to turn that franchise around. Most teams that get a 1st pick overall turn around much faster. And Kane is only signed with Detroit for a single year, so he'll likely be traded at the deadline when Detroit isn't in contention.

Not quite as amazing as when 1 of my all time hockey heroes and low key favorite player Daniel Alfredsson joined but, still. Kane has been so incredible for so long, and he's always carried himself well. He never causes bullshit, never causes drama, he's always consistent both on the ice, and off the ice, he's a STABLE player. That's what we need.

Both are legendary players but Kane will have a bigger impact IMO. 3 cups to Alfressons zero. Kaner knows how to get it done in the postseason. Nice move by Stevie Y.

A lot of people don’t know but Kane moved to Detroit when he was 14 to play for a top ranking youth team,he lived with pat verbeek former redwings player his family stayed back home in buffalo,pat and Kane both have said there were times when Kane wanted to call it a quits due the missing his family and the pressure and stress at young age but his family and coach pushed him and thank god because he has given everyone so many great memories and highlights as a caps fan I’m really happy he’s staying in Detroit it’s where his journey to the NHL truly began almost 20 years ago now and btw one of those years he played there for honeybaked in Detroit he dropped 160 points in 70 games in AAA tier 1 hockey he was 15-16
