Mahomes is amazing. Great & elite even, but if we were all being honest. He's a product of his environment. He's been gifted the greatest coaching staff/TE in the league. Possibily even all time. You pair that with a great, even above average, QB. That team will go far. Hurts, Allen, Burrow, Lamar would all have similar success. That's not to take anything away from Mahomes' accomplishments, but we also have to give some of the credit to his supporting cast. Which he has benefited from immensly & if we really wanna get into the nitty gritty of it, we can even mention some of the calls they have benefited from. Which everyone has seen. So no, Mahomes not being #1. Isn't that big of a deal. Im more surprised Hill is #1, i would honestly put sewell or cmc at #1.

I agree with McCoy, Patrick Mahomes could be the best player every year. But I have no problem giving recognition to the other players. And I thought he phrased it very well that the defense led the way and Patrick Mahomes put them away, that's exactly what Tom Brady did in his super bowl runs.. if the Chiefs field a strong defense Mahomes might have a shot at the super bowl record. Because it's that type of scenario where you're never out of the game because of your defense and you have an elite quarterback making crucial plays.

Also, if you actually watch the games, his receivers just couldn’t catch a ball to save their life. And I’m not making excuses here. It’s just the reality of what happened. What did Kadarius Toni drop like nine passes and one game? Sky Moore couldn’t catch anything. The only receiver that clicked eventually was Rashid Rice because they were all children and then you have MVS in every game it just would bouncing off peoples chests, hitting people in the face, bouncing off hands. I agree he didn’t live up to a standard on paper, but he still played his heart out. Another way to think of it is imagine if Mahomes had the offensive weapons Lamar had last year. I wonder how many yards flowers would have. And could Lamar Jackson win if he had what Mahomes had to work with offensively

James got it right but didn't put forth the best argument: Patrick Mahomes is the best player in the NFL because none of those other players could have gotten to Super Bowl last year with that Chiefs team, and those other players definitely couldn't have beaten the 49'er with that Chiefs team. That's why Mahomeboy is the #1 player of the top 100. But as Joy said the entire methodology of this list sucks, and it will rarely get the answer right.

There is no planet that exists where Lamar Jackson is the best QB & Patrick Mahomes is in the League. Mahomes just went and won another Super Bowl with his 2 top Wide receivers named Rice/ MVS, You swap Mahomes with Jackson in that playoffs and it's the Ravens who are lifting the Super Bowl since they had the superior team outside of QB and DT. This reminds me of when Steve Nash Won 2 MVP's he was not even a top 5 player in the league.

The players never treated Brady this way. This list is garbage and players are saying what they think fans want to hear. There's no way you could ask every player in the league to give their honest answer on who the best player is and not get 95% Mahomes. The question is who comes in 2nd.
