This is covered in the excellent book by Joe Repsch, The Joe Meek Story The Telstar Man, a fantastic read and far far better than the film.

Hi Colin, I too have a copy of Robbie Duke on the ATA label (ATA 1010) and on my copy of the release it states that Side A is in fact Sing Sing Barbara and Side B is Hold Me. You can check this as I have uploaded a photo' of the copy on the 45cat web site. Regards, Dean

Robbie needs to put the record straight with regards to his time with Joe, and write his own biography of the events, lets hope the Joe Meek documentary whenever it comes out does a better job than Telstar the movie did spoke to Robbie on Twitter a nice man

im interested in knowing what happened, Robbie. great track. creepy coincidence for his final recording. was there a "plot"? or he just went nuts that day becuase of amphetamine abuse and , low on money? i find that hard to belieave. you are on record saying he was very paraonoid that day, writing notes, what did he write in those notes? i do belive his aprtment was bugged... why was he holding a shotgun in his hand? i mean, something happend with Heinz iv heard.... Awesome track btw, lol. if you want money for telling a lie thats sad, Robbie.

With regards to the event, he's made it clear in the BBC doco about Meek. It's the most insight we'll probably have now on what really happened (and more accurate than the Telstar film).

it's a must, I think this is one of Meeks best produced tracks, this doesn't sound like a final mic (dump mix), I wonder if a meek marvel could re-master this...

Hi FP51dpo. You are correct. There was a single called hold me with a b side. We do have a copy in the family but pretty hard to upload. I have searched hard for it but can't find it on line. I may be able to post it one day.

This uses the backing track to the 1966 release of the same name by Jason Eddy which, despite the label stating the writers to be the Centremen, I am assured was in fact Joe Meek.

Great song out of the Meek Stable, rumours say that patrick / robbie made more records and indeed a single surfaced according to the web any ideas if it has been posted or if he has a copy, good film but cruel portrayal of Patrick

i have heard rumorus about Heinz's complicity in the murder, but just chit chat, i mean, the guy (Meek) was a genius so probably he snapped on the day his hero died...
@LanceHarding6 жыл бұрын
Heinz was questioned as it was his gun & had his finger prints on it, he used to take it with him to shoot rabbits when he was travelling to gigs, he stormed out after a row with Joe to square him for Royalties & the gun was left there, of course, Heinz was cleared of any involvement to what happened to Violet Shenton & Joe.

Joe was tone deaf, why Dave Adams (who built Joe's studio) had to decipher the song's that Joe recorded onto tapes. I was the one that put this video together, on my other youtube account DiamondJoe304
