Janelle Monae is a very eclectic artist, pulling from various, diverse genres and vibes, heavy afrofuturism, and strong messages. You can never go into a Janelle Monae song and know what sound you're gonna get. Might be funk, might be a sock-hop vibe, might be a film noir style orchestra lol. Her first few albums play on her alias, a human disguised andriod from the future named Cindi Mayweather. Her album names are Metropolis, ArchAndriod (probably her most praised album), Electric Lady, and Dirty Computer). And you're right, her music is an experience... She also became a protégé of Prince. He was a fan of her music and started working with her. They have a duet called "Giving Them What They Love". I hope with her getting more and more noticed as an actress (she just got praised for Glass Onion with Daniel Craig), more and more will decide to check out her music too because she's very underrated imo... Some songs I'd recommend are "Tightrope", "Make Me Feel", "Babopbyeya", "Wondaland", "I Like That", "Cold War", Electric Lady", "Faster", "Sally Ride", "Look Into My Eyes". She honestly just has so many to choose from...
