A square yellow sponge named SpongeBob SquarePants lives in a pineapple with his pet snail, Gary, in the city of Bikini Bottom on the floor of the Pacific Ocean. He works as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab. During his time off, SpongeBob has a knack for attracting trouble with his starfish best friend, Patrick. Arrogant octopus Squidward Tentacles, SpongeBob's neighbor, dislikes SpongeBob because of his childlike behavior.

This is the beginning of the "Squidward Torture" episodes, where Squidward gets harassed, annoyed, and abused by everyone, just because he IS Squidward. In episodes like 'Pizza Delivery' and 'the Lost Mattress', Squidward was being punished and tormented because he was acting like a jerk to others, and he got his comeuppance at the end. That's what made them FUNNY! But in episodes like the ones here, the writers began to think Squidward being made miserable for no reason is just his character in general, and IT IS NOT!!! So beware!

Something funny about the last episode is that magic does canonically exist in Bikini Bottom, aside from what we see at the end of the episode. King Neptune uses it quite a bit in his first appearance, and it's also used a bit in the movie. Also, Squidward managed to get some alone time in the last episode. It kind of sucks he had to leave his home in order to get it, but at least it's something after what he went through throughout the other episodes in this set

SpongeBob saying, "You've swallowed your clarinet again" is reference to "Squidtastic Voyage" being the second episode in which Squidward swallows his clarinet. The first was in "SB-129." I know SpongeBob's lack of continuity, but it's weird this happened on the show twice and the "Squidtastic Voyage" episode itself seams to be aware of that.

It seems like you’re slowly getting into the main issues with SpongeBob people had after awhile. This is around the time where I was starting to notice a change in the episodes quality. Most noticeable changes that were made included Patrick’s stupidity acting as more of a crutch than a joke most of the time, and Squidward not really deserving all the torment he gets anymore.
