Always a pleasure Pat watching your video's , you boldly go up stream fearlessly as I sit drinking tea watching you , half expecting you to pop out of a waterfall on the Amazon .. Lol , your sort of video's should be shown in schools , along Fred Dibnah ..perhaps the young children will learn why infrastructure is so very important to our way of life , they should also learn about all of the other services underground , gas, electric , sewers , railways , etc etc , we are in need of engineers for the future , as nothing lasts forever . the most important thing the BBC don't get involved , simply because they would milk it dry , in my opinion .

Glad you did this one. I've looked down from the steelworks into that many times. At one time they used to pipe live steam around the steelworks and it used to be belching out of that area where the ladder was. I can still remember the smell! I had no idea how big the tunnel was! Thanks Patrick.

Fantastic video with some great still photography of places we would never see otherwise. These tunnels will still be around in many years to come the brickwork is amazing when you think how longs its been in these damp wet conditions. Great video Patrick. Always wounded what was under the steel works. Where you encountered the trains above, I walk over there from time to time and you can hear the river. From there it opens up near the store's area, then a tunnel then another open area where you took some photos on your last visit. Then another tunnel, then an open area with what looks like deep areas this runs past the west Bank area of the works that leads to the far security gate then the river runs behind the houses on Manchester Road to the dam. Sorry you got caught, bet that was fun for you. If you need any photos of any areas, let me know and I'll try to get some.

Really appreciate your efforts to show us places you would never see, also encourages me to think out of the box and have a go at something different. I do hope the Steel works Staff and the Police were decent with you, showed some understanding and had some respect and hopefully some interest? Keep going Pat, looking forward to your next new project, anything planned, guess you may have a new fix on things given this one, not giving any clues until you have it all in the bag, if you know what l mean! I love the clandestine stuff. I found myself in Macclesfield with a heavy rucksack. I plodded up the never ending road. Finally I came to the cut and walked along the tow path. The farmers must have spent a fortune on fencing. No way to kip in a field by the side of the cut. There were trees though and I got my hammock set up. I was surprised that people who were walking, running and riding bikes up and down the tow path, never looked my way. They weren't expecting to see anyone so they didn't. Even when dogs came to say hello, they never looked. You can hide anywhere.

stunning video and superb stil shots with your light painting which you"ve really got down to a fine art ! A shame about the hassle with your follow up visit but the latest video was every bit as rivetting as part 1. Good on you for putting it out nonetheless. Keep up the good work Pat. Cheers

Hi Pat another fantastic video I wonder what these culverts are like in flood conditions the power of the water and the noises of the water you should have your tv series's, it would be good to see yourself and Martin zero to do a video production together, well done Pat looking forward to part two.

Once again a fantastic video, I really enjoy your light painting technique, the images are extremely "Sharp". And look as though they have been taken with a medium format camera. You should consider a book of sort about Sheffield and surrounding area. And include your beautiful images that you take all the time and trouble to compose. Look forward to your next adventure. Also the music score is lovely....... A.t.b. Adrian

Well done, Pat! I just watched it for the third time, this time on the 55" telly, which I also use as a monitor. Your light painting is extremely sharp. I had to pause and study them. Your sound quality is phenomenal on the floor speakers. You have outdone yourself on this production. Move over Stanley Kubrick and Quentin Tarantino. I would say that those six thumbs down came from the steel factory and the "Blue Meanies" for shouting in their basement. Actually, I get the impression that the factory acted fairly kindly in the end. If it turns out that they could give you access to something worthwhile it may be worth coming back to. You could consider it one more broadening of scope. Thank you so much for bringing this unique adventure to our living rooms. ~Peter Better Way Systems - Brazos Mr. Piano Knee (Mister PYanno ne)

@@patrickdickinson6492 I read up a bit on public access to rivers and canals in England and Wales and now I see some of the challenges faced by intrepid explorers. Here is a link to an informative article in Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rivers_Access_Campaign?wprov=sfla1 As in most well constructed communication, one may read as much or as little as one wishes in this article and still come away with better understanding. I am still reading... I appreciate your considerate replies. ~P
