Is it overreacting for parents to flip out if you have anything less than a B in class and still complain about B’s? Mine do that but I’m not the smart kid and they put so much pressure on me and give me so much grief when I’m not the smartest kid in class, I just want to know if anyone else has parents like that. It’s really stressful and they never help anything they just add stress to the equation
@hyunyi48705 жыл бұрын
I totally understand where you’re coming from my parents can be the same way, the best thing you can do is talk to your parents and ask them to give you a break and tell them that you are trying to be the best you can. And also talk with your teachers, don’t be afraid to go to extra help, get/do extra credit and ask questions, teachers can really help. I was failing one of my math classes a couple years ago and I talked with my parents first and told them I’m trying my hardest and then I talked with my teacher for steps going into the future and I’m doing a lot better. I hope this helps and good luck!

in fact it is the best way. if you practiced factoring with many problems, the succeeding ones won't even be a problem anymore, your brain's instantly going to tell you that these are the correct factors. Moreover, you can easily tell whether or not it's factorable. I think much of the problem lies with one's basic math, put some effort on it.

@Martin944turbo3 жыл бұрын
For 1.25 M subscribers earned, I must say that I disagree with the last example @6:09 and it's not taught well. It's "easy" for small numbers to play the guessing game but this method is not being taught. The better way to describe 2x^2-5x-3=0 which works for larger numbers is to multiply the 2 at the start with the -3 at the end. This gives us -6. The middle number is -5 in -5x. What two numbers using -6 can give me that -5 number? Well, this tells me that -6 + 1 = -5. This being said, so I know right away that I can write the equation as 2x^2-6x+x-3=0 ... now I can factor by grouping so I'll have 2x(x-3)+1(x-3)=0. I know from previous lessons that this is the same as (2x+1)(x-3) - BOOM, solved. You're welcome everyone :) I'll be here all night.
@Hussaini786_8 жыл бұрын
Guys, the second one is wrong so no need to worry about that. He took only 3 but he had to multiply 3 by 2 first in order to get the answer which is 6, then (x-6)(x+1)=0 X=6 X=-1

I swear, how can these quadratic equations help me in life? I don't plan on being an engineer or any job that includes difficult math like this one. Math like this should be optional, because most of us students in don't even plan on using this for our lives! WHICH IS SO FRUSTRATING BECAUSE WHY SHOULD WE STUDY SOMETHING WHICH WE ARE NOT EVEN GOING TO USE

Why bother letting your real math teacher confuse you in class? This is so much better!

Thank you for this video! I'm being forced into an online math course for ISU, and I had no idea how to figure out this stuff, that is until I watched this video.

On the last bit I don't understand wouldn't it be (2x-3)(x+1) because that makes -5x and it makes -3 I think u may have made a mistake

+Jack Ireland He got the right answer, but he did not use the simplest method. He guessed on order and happened to be right. He could have multiplied 2*-3=6 and gone from there. Needed to spend more time explaining his method.
