I wish my teacher was this straight forward. I like how this guy just teaches what you want to know without spewing a bunch of other irrelevant stuff that'll confuse us on what's the main focus
@shaunaklavande81598 жыл бұрын
I agree, our teachers should teach us the background knowledge on the material and why it works, and we should see extra help (this video) to apply it.

Without understanding why it works, this "knowledge" is easily forgettable and almost useless in a long run. Thats why you NEED a teacher - because you do not understand What is important to concentrate your attention on.

the leading coefficient needs to be a 1; in this case it is 2 (the number in front of x). You could first multiply the numerator and denominator by 1/2 and then proceed.

what if you have a value in front of that x? you know, how it says x - 2, but what if it was something like 3x - 2?

You would use Long Division of a Polynomial. He's got a video for that too, just look it up.

@pastitsio9 жыл бұрын
Or you could just multiply both the numerator and the denominator by 1/3 and boom!
@DavidSharp22019 жыл бұрын
No problem. Why does the the (x - 2) turn into + 2 for the calculation? Because if (x - 2) = 0, then x = 2! So if 3x - 2 = 0, 3x = 2, therefore x = 2/3. So u use 2/3 in your calculation.

Vivek Patel that doesn't work, you need to factor out the coeficient of x before dividing, then divide the resulting expression by that coeficient (in this case that would be 3).
