This is awesome. I have designed and started making a high top roof for our 2005 Chevy Astro van and this explains the resin/joinery process better than anything else I've found on You tube. Thank you for taking the time to create these videos! Well done.

Ah, the good ol' utility trailer work bench! I started on the floor of the garage/driveway, moved up to the tailgate of the truck, and then to the trailer. Even though I have a decent little shop WITH an actual workbench now, I still end up on the trailer/tailgate/floor most of the time. Awesome videos!

Thank you! Yeah, I have upgraded quite a bit since this video haha. But yes I find myself working on the floor of my shop or out in my driveway.. I’m always like, what am I doing??

@@PatrickRemington Exactly! I’ll find myself all spread out in the driveway, then turn around to see my empty shop and just shake my head and laugh. Old habits are hard to break I guess.

Patrick, thank you for making this series; building a rooftop tent is enough work without addressing a camera. Your timing couldn't be more perfect for me! I'm working on converting my Honda Element into my full-time (rather small) home and I've been trying to figure out how to make a roof-top tent just like yours to expand my space. I'm using your series for guidance now so thank you so much!

Talcum powder costs less than wood flour and works great, but the resulting fillet takes forever to sand (hard as rock). Don't forget wax paper is your friend when working with epoxy, for masking and smoothing rough spots before the epoxy goes off. Smooth rough spots by laying wax paper over the area to be smoothed and roll or rub on top of the wax paper, moving the epoxy underneath.

3 things I love in this video. The crisp angles and lines in the design details of the top, the cat, and the gratuitous “snap” of the gloves every time you put them on. Its the same thing I do when putting on gloves in my shop, but I always add the phrase “bend over!” When I snap them :-)

A buddy of mine loves the two part epoxy. He's built several boats with great results. He told me that you can make sawdust from just about any hardwood scrap you've got laying around as long as it's dry ( no pine or pressure treated) in place of wood flour. The other tip he gave me was to measure my liquids and then mix my sawdust and epoxy then add the hardener. Not sure what the reason for that
