@@pj4433 I once hit a tire on the freeway, I was stupidly following the person in front of me too close, and when they swerved into the fast lane, I didn't have time to react and ran straight into it with only maybe 20 feet of braking. Thankfully I was in a truck, it ate the impact and there wasn't actually any visible damage to it. Only the front tires left the ground though, I came back down on top of it and it popped out to the side. Drove home with my tail between my legs while calling 911 to notify them of the tire.
@theexchipmunk3 ай бұрын
@@pj4433 Most people completely underestimate how ridiculusly dangerous a lost wheel is. One has to remember that most steel rimmed road wheels weight is around 50-60 pounds, for a normal passenger car that is, and large truck wheels weigh much more. And they are very sturdy. They have to carry the weight of a car after all and travel a distance that goes multiple times around the earth. Even at deceptively low speeds they develop a momentum that is scary. At 30 mph, if a wheel comes off and hits you, it can and likely will kill you.

The whole pileup was not the Altima's fault, and here why: 1. Both the pickup and the truck driver should have had a secured load. 2. The biker should have kept a safe following distance. 3. The vehicle that merged should have made sure it was SAFE to merge BEFORE they merged into another vehicle. 4. For the Jeep vehicle, when you see an accident ahead, your first reaction should not be to spin out into traffic.
