Hey man I am 22 years old right now. I played when I was around 12 and I stopped playing. I dont regret this choice, but I would have liked myself to keep playing. Now I am going to start lessons again. I just wanted to tell you that you should keep going if you like it. Its good for your brains, its stress relieving and its a gift to be able to play. Sometimes it wont seem fun to play anymore but its also good to push through such times it will get you far in life. Good luck

Im also 14 I started when I was in year 7 so 12 years old, and yeah despite me not having as much experience as either of you, I'm getting the same problem of school, what I've done is just playing piano and really committing to learning when I feel like it, whether thats procrastinating before an exam or assignment or simply just sitting at the piano when I have free time. Once I do sit down I will make each session worth it, slowly getting better whether that's working on skills or building muscle memory for your latest song, which for me is Heart of Courage, ofc the one by patrik. But yeah, never give up, I hope you both continue to enjoy piano and learn as I have yet to experience the bulk of what piano is truly about.

I've been playing piano since I was 5 as well although now I'm 15 and I completely agree with you, since I saw a video of Patrik Pietschmann I have realized that the are so many different ways to use the piano to make amazing pieces and in my opinion no one can do that as well as Patrik.

Let me tell you dude, I started playing when i was 4, and there were countless days when i wished i could stop, up until i was in my teens, but now im 23 and I couldnt imagine my life without piano. It's the best feeling in the world to be able to sit down and write or play the most beautiful and magical music whenever you want to. And its helped me a ton as I learn other instruments like guitar. Its much harder to start from scratch, so at least keep playing a little bit to keep that natural muscle memory

If you're wonder 'who is this for' and 'is this too hard', I just wanted to say...your pieces inspired me to keep pushing my piano skills. I'm never going to be a professional musician, but I almost dropped piano in the last few years. Didn't think I was going to do anything with it and didn't have any reason to keep practicing. But then I found your channel, and yeah, your arrangements were way too difficult for me, but they gave me something to keep pushing for and keep playing piano for. Now that you inspired me to keep practicing, I've been able to play some of your arrangements. So, I guess, even if there aren't many people who can do it right away, you show people what piano can be and give people something to strive for.

What an incredible feeling it must be to create one of the most beautiful sounds that the human ear can possibly perceive, and to know that only a handful of people on earth can actually play it. I feel bad for the 99.99999% of people who have ever lived on earth who will never hear Patrik's music. I think that if humans heard his music thousands of years ago, it would have changed the course of history.

Patrick, this is my first youtube comment ever, i don’t care if you even notice it. But I play piano a lot too, I even write my own piece (not that complicated and beautiful though) and I am also a humongous fan of Hans Zimmer, Ludovico Einaudi… and not any songs have ever produced such emotions through me, such clarity and perceptive of life. Thank you for sharing your work, thank you for this creation. You are absolutely amazing.

If anyone was to ask me who the best composers are from our lifetime, I would say Hanz, Ludovico, and Patrik! I'm not a professional pianist by any means, but playing has been a lifetime passion and I'm completely self-taught. I love many composers, but I started learning to play ludovico at the beginning, primarily from the love of his music, but to also improve my skills. I've been listening to your covers Patrik for the best part of a decade, sometimes ON REPEAT each day. They are truly amazing and prove your talents! I've wished for a long time to be able to play some of them one day. You've been a big inspriation of mine for a long time, and as I get better, thanks to your videos, I've finally been able to move to Zimmer and learn Gladiator and Interstellar. I'm now currently learning dune! You bring a lot joy to my daily life, so I would like to send my gratitude and thank you. You've had a huge impact on both my passion for the instrument and progression. Your own compositions are truly out of this world, nothing else compares. You are one of the greats! Please come tour in the UK!!!

Mach weiter so!

Hey Patrick Just wanted to say you're one of the few people I know of who make spectacular piano compositions. Even though I'm not even close to playing any of your pieces, I still believe they aren't "too hard" or targeting a small group of people. While creativity is the biggest thing in music and even the simplest melodies can resurrect deep emotions, I believe high quality music should still have elements of skill and technicality. It's what puts people like you aside, what shows hard work and determination, which is inspiring in its own way. I can't imagine the hours you've put into your piano journey, and hearing them through your pieces is very beautiful. And hey, we're here, getting inspired with the hope and dream to one day be able to recreate your pieces for ourselves. So keep showing off your hard-earned talent and motivate us to work hard! Nevertheless, I don't think you're physically capable of writing bad music, even if you lower the difficulty, so I'm happy either way!

And he's done it again.... The chords in this one are absolutely beautiful, thank you!! I know this is kind of an unsolicited story, but your arrangement of Victory was the first youtube video I ever watched, and the reason I picked up piano that day three years ago. To this day you are my favourite artist by far and the reason I continue to play. I'm heading into sophomore year in a few weeks, and taking the SAT in even less than that, and in the midst of trying to finish everything I let go of piano for a while... watching this made me run back and try out a few chords from this song. Reminded me why I always used to stay up 30 more minutes to play after turning in an assignment at 3 am. Thank you so much for the song patrik, and please don't ever stop playing :)

I want to mention this section at 3:38, because I am obsessed with how you slowed down and resolved back to the main melody. This will without a doubt be my winter recital piece, along with your arrangement from Tron. Looking forward to the next arrangement/composition or whatever it is I’m sure I will enjoy it as much as the previous one if not more. This one is going in my piano playlist, thanks Patrik! 💙

Every time you make a new one it has a completely different theme and melody that blows my mind. You're the reason why I tried to start playing piano and showed me that there's always more to music. I look at the music you play note for note or listen to the orchestra version just so I could transcribe it and try playing it. I hope you'll never stop making music and you keep going. From, Dontae

this work is good, but I like “The journey of life” much more, it is my favorite work of all yours. To be honest, you are my idol. You are the reason why I continued to study music and want to become a piano teacher. I hope someday there will be a concert somewhere where all your works will be played, I would definitely go there!!! (if I have enough money) But my dream is not to attend your concert (actually that too), my dream is to shake your hand and say thank you for everything you do. I can’t live a day without your videos, your creativity inspires me. To be honest, I like “The journey of life” more than any work by Hans Zimmer (even more than Interstellar because there is so much of it on the Internet that I’m already somehow tired of it). By the way, regarding Interstellar, I learned your arrangement in a week, but I learned the arrangement of “Up is down” for 7 months =). “Up is down” is the first thing I bought from your work, these 7 months were killer. In short, the conclusion: I want to attend your concert and then shake your hand and thank you for everything. (This text was written in Google translate and using the rules of the Russian language, so if the grammar here is bad, then forgive me, I don’t know English well. But so be it, I’ll learn it in order to express my gratitude to you someday) =)

By the way, i commented a lot on your channel, but i don't think i took the time to thank you throughout all these years i've been listening to your arrangement and original composition. I would have never bought a piano if i had not came accross your channel, 4 years ago. They say, always try to play pieces that you love if you want to keep practicing and not give up. I had my up and downs with the Piano these past 4 years but i keep coming back after listening to your work. Thank you for keeping us motivated. I learned a lot of songs but i will finally finish playing your Interstellar arrangement. But what i'm the most proud of is seeing my 6years old sit and enjoying playing piano and having a real interest in it. I try to teach him a few thing and if he wants, i'll have a teacher for him. Hey Patrik, I would usually have commented by now, but I've been really busy lately. This piece sounds really atmospheric. I'm glad you answered a question I asked in a previous video do the orchestral compositions come first, or do the piano ones. So usually you do the orchestral ones first. I like the idea of creating an easier piece, it really helps, although the harder technical pieces are, as you said, really fun to try and learn! I really like your graphics and piano sound, they work really well. In fact, your videos are probably the best in this area on the internet! The synth version sounds great too, but it would be nice to hear it orchestrated too, with the synth included. You have really good climactic moments and overall good sound. It sounds like you have really understood how to create synth music! I look forward to your next composition!

I‘ve been playing piano for around 5 years now and you‘re one of my biggest inspiration why I still play the piano. I want to tell you that you inspire so many people to start playing the piano and that we love you and your hard work and are very excited for your next composition. I wish you the best health and happiness for you and your loved ones Patrik!

You really like using the technique at 4:29, don't you. I'd like to thank you so much Patrik for inspiring me to learn piano, I've only been playing for a year, but I have already learned several of your pieces by ear!

Patrick, this is amazing. Every time I have to choose a song for a recital or something like that you are always the person I go to. I love your work and the way that you voice the melody in each arrangement. I have a recital coming up in December and I would love to use one of your works. I love your star wars pieces, Battle of the Heroes is my favorite, but there is one star wars song that I really would love for you to arrange because I can't think of anyone who could do a better job. The Asteroid Field from the Empire Strikes Back is one I've always wanted to learn, and I guess I am formally asking if you would take the time to arrange it sometime. You push me to keep playing the piano. Keep it up!

I usually listen Patrick themes and arrangements when I need to "step of" this life rythm and take breath and renewed strength, what happens more and more frequently as I grow older, the body begins to not be what it was (sometimes it's harsh to notice I'm no longer 25) and the mind no longer leaves behind things that perhaps it should for my own mental health. It's like a healing sanctuary for my mind, yet I've never posted a comment on any of his videos (as far as I remember). I wanted to say thanks, for all the times that your songs have brought me the peace I needed to, at times, regain strength and move forward; in others, thinking clearly and making correct decisions that perhaps were not so obvious to a restless mind. And to throw a question into the void of the internet: what is the film industry waiting for to give him an opportunity that he obviously deserves? I would gladly watch any film that had Patrick in charge of the soundtrack (as I do with Hans Zimmer)

I cannot stress enough how you have captivated me today ! you have grasped me and Iheld me so firmly and gently I couln't get away and yhe only thingleft was to stay and lsten . I love the pattern of scaling up and down with rythm that changes tempo and chasing melodies . I LOVE IT !!!
