There’s an old saying “ do the job right the first time or don’t do it at all.” if they did the job right the first time and hired the correct head coach then we wouldn’t be going through this mess now. Mike Vrabel should have been the head coach of the Patriots after they let Bill Belichick go. Now they’re in a conundrum because the word is that if Ryan Day gets fired from Ohio State Vrabel is a strong candidate to take that position. If they want Mike Vrabel, they need to strike while the iron is hot.

The offensive was always a question mark with no offensive line and a lack of quality receivers, but this coaching staff destroyed a fine, respectable defense. Mayo makes the wrong decisions during and after games, and probably during practices as well. He is clueless, even a person with not much knowledge about football would say that why didn't he ask Drake to run on the 3rd down when they were only about 1/2 a yard short. I'm sure Drake is not happy at all and he would make a better decision on the plays like that one if they allow him to. Jerod can't keep saying that he is learning while he already played in NFL and coached and in NFL for several years and he learned it from the best coach. He has been a HC for almost the whole season now and it seems like he doesn't put effort into it. He is still the as he was with week # 2. His defense is bad and offense is bad as well, It seems like he is not making players practice situational football as well. Outside of Drake Maye, no one is good. Fire Mayo and hire Vrable. Jerod should not waste Drake's second season, it would affect his self esteem and won't grow with Mayo. Drake is definitely more valuable than Jerod.

If anything the only person who is questionable is Demarcus Covington. At the end of the day we have a very below average roster. Because we paid Kyle Digger big money but he’s degreased this season. The only real players we have on defense is Gonzo, Peppers, Bentley, Tavai, Barhmore and White. I would say Dugger but he’s degreased hasn’t been making plays this season. When it comes to the offense we have Drake Maye, Henry, Hooper, Douglas, Bourne, and Stevenson but the offensive line has been terrible this season so he hasn’t been producing. The only thing I give credit to Alex VanPelt is how well he developed Drake Maye. But at the end of the day Drake Maye doesn’t have much to work with which is why he consistently has to play hero football that leads to turnovers. I’d say give Mayo one more year and Elliot Wolf one year more. But still we are in a rebuild, we have countless injuries on defense losing starters and we also have Cole strange who was a first round pick who has been injured most of his time in NE. I’d say hire Brian Flores as our defensive coordinator this upcoming season. If our record doesn’t change this upcoming next season and we have Jerod Mayo, wolf and pelt, then it’s time to make another change. Jerod Mayo is supposed to be the heir of BB, I think he really needs to step in when it comes to defensive play calling and also step in when it comes to the offense as well. We really need to hit this upcoming FA and hit the draft as well. If we don’t get more than three wins next season then we aren’t improving. But there were a ton of first year head coaches who had no experience that had a terrible first two seasons. But on their third year they became playoff contending teams. It just takes time. You can’t expect Drake Maye who was a first round pick to save this team and lead us to the playoffs his rookie year. It isn’t realistic. We need a true number 1 WR, we need a LT and a RT, we need a solid CB2, we need an Edge rusher who can get sacks or create pressure. Once we hit all of those things, then we will on the right track.

Van Pelt is the only NFL caliber coach on the staff. The Krafts have no one to blame then themselves for this debacle. They are going to scapegoat AVP even though he has done a good job with Maye and has been given nothing to work with. Not calling the right plays to fit his players strengths? Which players? What strengths ? They have no talent Hunter Henry and Hooper are mid TEs the WR is a mess the RBs suck. Jerod Mayo is the head coach, if he does not like the plays being called can he not overrule Van Pelt? If not Why is he here? This defense sucks as well. It was supposed to be the strength of the team. People were talking about this defense being top ten caliber. Where are all the callouts for Covington to be fired?
