In Belichiks first year in 2000 he went 5-11 with Bledsoe and Bledsoe started 0-2 in 2001 when he got hurt. Tommy came in and the rest is history. 1 player can make the difference. We have been a disaster, for the most part, since Tommy left. I hope Drake can hit the ground running. He seems to have the right intangibles for the job. Go Pats!!!!!!

Best decision for the team. Now you can really see what you got and build a more competive roster next year. This is huge for Drake, he has a chance to showcase his talent and compete for the ROY. I wholeheartly believe we pick the best qb in the draft and soon the NFL world will know this too. This is about to be a fun ride!

It’s about damn time. Jacoby literally did nothing to win nor hold onto the job. I will give him credit with some of his timely runs and check down throws 🔑 moments to beat Cincinnati and he did take a pounding but some of that pounding was on him. Him not stepping up or sliding when needed, and when he did. His feet weren’t set at all to delivery a catchable pass. Passes to the flat were short causing the receiver to catch the ball on their knees. The change should’ve been made

QB can only be good if the oline is good. Drake will not make a huge difference, a slightly maybe but not that. This oline allows pressures in 2.7 seconds, 18 Sacks over 55% pressure rate on drop backs. Teams play man coverage 1 safety over the top and 7 man in the box because our WR cant beat man coverage and 7 man in the box kill our run game. You cant only throw quick passes you need a run game you need playaction and you need plays downfield.

Great job coach. You are starting the season with a bad quarterback you can have the best coach in the world you’re not going to win with Jacoby. If Jacoby was on Kansas City, they probably would have the same record as the Patriots. We will see how good coach really is now. I hope to see really big improvements with the offense.

Whether Wolf & Van Pelt were fully on board with this decision Mayo was going to make it anyway and likely notified Kraft beforehand. The tape speaks for itself and Brissett has clearly demonstrated he is a NFL back up QB meant for spot duty only. In his presser today, Maye sounded ready to start his NFL career so let's hope he shows flashes of CJ Stroud not Zach Wilson on Sunday. Mayo has to pivot & get with his defense because Sunday's game has the makings of another runaway game for the defense like the 9ers game and Goddchaux and Whiite simply have to play much better to give the Pats a chance.

I don't agree with Jerod about teams still figuring out who they are going into week 6. Teams know what they are now. I get it...some teams are dealing with injuries, etc... and we are changing QBS but if Maye had started the season I think we would be better. Starting Brissett has probably cost us any hope of playoffs and we will see if the team is better going forward rallying around Drake. When Brady took over we were 0-2 and Brady went 14-3 for the rest of the season including a Superbowl victory so the season is not lost...yet.

As a lifelong Pats fan, I approve of the decision to start Maye. However, the amount of contradictions and inconsistencies in Mayo’s statements is ridiculous. Either he needs a better PR team or he just isn’t fit to be coach
