Considering how massive raccoons can get in real life(males reaching 35 pounds and a girth to envy a pig), I honestly think Class 2 makes sense.

As long as they keep it so it has no trophy organs im fine with it. Hunting them with the shotgun is way too much fun and I don’t want that to come to an end. But I also see where Crow is coming from saying they should be level 1, because it would feel so wrong to shoot one with buckshot 😂

I agree with what you said about the class level of the racoons. It's fun having a tough class 1 to hunt. Racoon hunting will be ruined if I'm given the option to smoke them with buck shot or a 243 from 300m out.

if they keep them class 1 they need to buff birdshot a bit so it will penetrate into raccoons or make a new shotgun ammo for raccoons

I think it does good enough. With the 10g or 12g they go down really quickly with a good hit, if not where they stand. If you wang one they should run off. Racoons are way tougher than the other class 1 animals.

i’ve asked them about this idea before with the european rabbit, whitetail jacks, antelope, scrub, eastern, and whatever rabbit is on cuatro. i think this is a great idea and they agreed, just doubt it is gonna be a thing unfortunately

Definitely should keep them class 1. I've shot plenty with the .22lr. If you hit them in the head they Definitely don't get back up in real life.

For raccoons, gun is gun. You shoot , it dies. But a basic 22 small game rifle takes two shots depending on the raccoons size.

ITS a shame that the .22lr and the .22 Hornet are so powerless in the Game .. Here in Germany we shoot racoons most with the .22lr and they drop in there tracks. I honestly was so excited for the .22hornet and now its kind of useless 🙁

I've only played Mississippi twice, both times on multiplayer because I don't yet own the map. On the first server, I passed up what I didn't know was a max weight estimate rabbit track and only shot a little level 5 gray fox. On the second server, I decided to set up on a gray fox feed zone that had a max weight track in it. Sure enough, with about 15 in-game minutes left in their feed zone, they showed up and the male was a level 9. There was another guy that followed me to that spot and took a shot at it, but he missed and I got the shot in before it spooked. I had to race him to pick it up first, but it ended up being a diamond. Second kill on the new map was a diamond fox. I have a feeling I'm gonna like this map.

I spotted the level 9 and my heart sank when I realized the other guy was still there. I almost crapped myself when I heard him shoot. Now I remember why I've never liked multiplayer.

In regards to irl calibers for raccoons; where I live, the go-to is 12ga #4 birdshot if they're up a tree. But there are a few trappers that live nearby so we'll use an air rifle and them the harvests so they can sell the pelts.

I also thought about the classification of the raccons and the usefulness of the 0.22H rifle. Assuming the Racoons are level 2 the 0.22H will be in general not a very good choice. The 0.243 could do all of that better. In addition, you can no longer hunt the racoons with birdshot, which is a lot of fun. I mean you can but you will lose integrity. Anyone would just use the 0.243 instead. So, Rocoons level 1 and a slight buff and cost reduction of the 0.22H would be nice. The 0.22H should be a bit more effective on Foxes, then it would almost replace the 0.243 in some loadouts. Greetings.

For me this game was ruined when rancho came out whenever there was more than like 5 animals the frame rate would be almost unplayable. Had a level 3 pheasant but literally couldn’t shoot it. Made me stop playing
