Probably because the Rookie is trying to be more realistic, in the LAPD they don’t use shoulder mics, that’s why the rookie doesn’t include them.

@@OllsDaYungOg I’ve watched a lot of cop shows, also, I’m not saying that they are, I’m saying that they are TRYING to be more realistic by using more realistic LAPD uniforms, LAPD officers don’t have shoulder mics which makes the rookie a LITTLE more realistic.

Uniform is poor - forgot the tie on the l/s shirt, wrong badges, no microphones worn in LA-PD,.

@@ej_22 Top button is meant to be un-done (white t-shirt underneath), when no tie. Badge should be more slightly different too for LAPD. I think it's copyright. Close.

A lot of shows use just slightly wrong badges when filming in LA especially to separate actor cops from real cops because sometimes bad things happen to "cops" on productions. If they look like security guards or actors they tend to have less trouble with 'locals.' It's why in the Shield the cops wore the badges on the wrong side of the uniform. They didn't want to deal with the fallout of the LAPD's Rampart scandal.
