Patrol Vessel HNLMS HOLLAND arrives in LONDON

Patrol Vessel HNLMS HOLLAND arrives in London on 12th April 2024. HNLMS HOLLAND is one of four Holland class offshore patrol vessels of the Royal Netherlands Navy. It would moor in London beside HMS BELFAST.

How beautiful. I missed the beginning with the containership. Inland? It is impressive to look at the ship and see London at the background.

Thanks. The vessel at the beginning of the video is a tug towing some barges. There is a company based in London called Cory that are a waste management and recycling company. They load non recyclable waste into containers which are then loaded onto barges. The Cory tugs tow the barges down the river to a place called Belvedere where Cory have a facility called Riverside 1. This is the largest Energy from Waste facility in the UK and the waste is incinerated. Steam produced during the incineration process is then used to drive a turbine which which can then produce electricity. You can see the tug and the barges in the background at around 2:00 in the video.

Thanks. Yes - the only way that I saw about this one was from bridge lift section of the Tower Bridge web site. Otherwise it is just a case of looking at the marine traffic / vessel finder website and seeing if anything is coming in.
