Actually, they did this cover 4 years ago when they were starting out and participating in the Italian version of X factor, and after their Eurovision win this got noticed and went viral 4 years after it's initial release. The singer's name is Damiano, pronounced more or less like Da - me - ah - no.

The Maneskin (read moneskin), Damiano the singer, Ethan the drummer, Thomas the guitarrist, and Victoria are an Italian group from Rome, the name Maneskin is a Danish word that means moonlight and was chosen because Victoria the bassist of the group is half Danish, they are very young boys with an age ranging from 20 to 22 years . they became famous in Italy in 2017 when they finished second in the X-Factor final. I personally liked them from the first listening. they made songs in both Italian and English, they sang their song "l wanna be your slave" with lggy Pop, right now after winning Sanremo festival and Eurovision song contest they are at the top of all the European charts, but they also entered the Russian and American music charts, there are dozens of very beautiful songs written by them, most of them rock, but there are also raggy pieces and very deep ballads. listen to them you will not regret it, if you listen to the Italian songs it is better to see the videos with English subtitles, their lyrics are very deep 😁👍

FYI, their official videos in Italian usually don't have subs, if you want to understand their Italian song lyrics look for "Maneskin (song title) English(or other language) subtitles" and you should be able find something - but choose the videos with more views because those usually have a better translation.

You are right. They will be on the Ellen show today. Just watched their performance opening for the Rolling Stones in Las Vegas. They are fantastic.

Your are right. The Four Seasons and Frankie Valli performed it in the 1960ies. But in 2007, the Singer/Rapper Duo Madcon picked up the song and added some rapping verses. This version was covered by Maneskin in the X-Factor Italy show 2017. After winning Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) by Maneskin, this cover went viral on Tiktok and became worldwide No.1 in Charts.

I think that is why they kill Damiano in Mammamia… everyone is just asking for him. After esc I think that they noticed that. this song is a cover that Maneskin did in 2017 to X-Factor Italy, at the time Damiano, the singer, was 18, Ethan 17 and Victoria and Thomas 16. they don't use auto tune or vocal filters, if you want there are dozens of videos of this song where they sing and play it live. the most recent video is the one at Jimmy's tonight show. however their songs are more particular, you can listen to vent'anni (20 years old), or le parole lontane (far words) or morirò da re (l Will die as a king,) or Torna a casa (come back at home) with English subtitles, or l wanna be your slave (there is also a version sung by Iggy pop with Damiano) or mammamia or for your love, or new song Or chosen or the live version of the cover of the song Amandoti at the Sanremo festival sung with Manuel agnelli their judge at X-Factor and front man of the Afterhours group 😁👍 trust me you will like them very much and you will not regret it 👍😁

They are SO damn GOOD live and not all rock bands can pull off! I recently saw them open, in a video that is sadly, for the Rolling Stones at their recent Vegas show. Hand picked by Mick Jagger himself and they totally ROCKED that packed football stadium! Believe it! (From 3-4 weeks ago) Phenomenal! THIS cover of theirs has only gotten better over the last four years or so they've been doing it. LOVE IT and MANESKIN! I am SO happy and excited that they're bringing back rock n roll in such a creative way! Rock on, Aszneth 😀🤘
