I'm sad. I admit the UI can be better but I dont feel like Patrouski gave this game a fair shot at all =( Imagine if someone barely plays through PokeMMO and made such a negative video. As an content creator, Patrouski can hold a lot of power/influence. Even for a FIRST impression video, even though it's just his opinion, there are barely any playtime to truly get a real feel for the game to build a well-informed opinion. In fact, I think a fair first impression would be at least getting to the point where you can talk in chat. At that point, one has not deep dive into the game but played enough to experience the basic mechanics to say they gave it a shot, imo.

I am a pokéMMO player and I just found out about this game cuz some random guy online just typed "pokemon planet > pokemmo" So I decided to watch this video and I was shocked by how awful this game looks. I genuinely thought it was a troll opinion first, but after reading the comments of ppl defending PokNexus with their lives, I can tell the players there are really into it. I can't understand how ppl who try PokéMMO would ever play this instead. Maybe they are just attached to it because it's more familiar/nostalgic to it idk.

My problems with Pokenexus are : - its ugly - johto-hoenn-sinnoh-unova are empty (no story, its only gyms/e4) - very hard for new players to get the motivation to play cuz its sooooo grindy - very hard for new players to get into pvp content cuz lots of good pvp pokemons are legendaries/extremely rares pokemon The game is really really grindy. I started enjoying the game after i understood how to grind/get money faster. The more u play, the faster u get money. I also like the fact that there’s no breeding, u have to grind and find pokemons urself if u want good ones. It feels really rewarding when you find what u want. Btw pokenexus just released a massive update adding gen7 pokemons and all missing legendaries. Ur opinion is totally valid, and i know ur not trying to kill the game, but ur video will most likely keep people away from the game. I don’t think pokenexus needed such a video coming from a massive pokemon mmo youtuber right now.

Hey pat, I usually love your videos but I feel like you could've done much better on this one. I've never played this game so i don't have have an agenda defending it but even then I feel like you're both over overexaggerating negatives & making up your mind based on incomplete or ill researched information. I actually do like how you're being honest and pointing out positives when you see them so I truly don't think you made this with bad intent. I also actually agree with a lot of the critiques you give based on what I'm seeing in this video. The new player experience seems very barebones which is a major problem for any game, since that's the part 100% of players will get through and a good first impression is the biggest key to growing a playerbase. Looking at some reddit posts and stuff about the game it does appear to be more endgame driven. If 90% of people quit before getting to that point though, there's definetly a problem there. The main problem I have is just the way you present it. The title is a big yikes. For an unofficial fan game I actually think it doesn't look that bad at all comparetively. trust me- there's so much low quality garbage out there this seems to definetly be in the top 25% of what I've seen. I understand going for a procovative title and thumbnail but it just comes across in poor taste, to me atleast. People looking for this game on youtube will probably find this video as one of the top results considering how small the game is. They might get turned off by that, despite this being more of a first impressions video that doesn't really look into any of the mechanics deeper and where you just make a lot of assumptions based on the subpar new player experience. I don't think you made this video with ill intent and I have no problem with negative reviews if they're well researched, but making claims like "worst pokemmo I've played" without looking into what I presume is 90% of the game, or doing any research whatsoever doesn't really sit well with me

This game sucks bud lol only good side is communication. Besides that they ruined the fundamentals that came with actual pokemon games. Why doesn't wild battles affect hp? Why can't we use items in battle? Why are legends behind a wall most players can't get past? Why don't veteran players help new players, like give them random mons with neutral nature's or usable natures like I used to? Help people enjoy it, why not reduce encounters because the game sucks unless the encounters are reduced to find ERs easier. Make it more usable for new players and everybody. Could be so much better if BRODY actually made it a good pokemon game

@@Lardnuts It's not meant to be a casual gaming experience. It's a grindy game much like something like Terraria, in that aspect and that it doesn't hold your hand. A lot of the mechanic critiques can be explained readily from this video like the UI scaling quite literally being to the right of general setting at the beginning of the video had he actually taken the time to look at all the options. HP resets per battle to help new players not have to spend money on potions. You can in fact use items in battle, just not trainer battles because it's meant to be grindy. (plus, you never see trainers in the anime use potions while fighting, do you?) Veteran players do help with the game. I've seen so many offer to teach moves and help evolve trade evo's all the time. Any time you see a new player have a question it typically gets answered quickly unless there was off topic discussions happening. I was given a 50k bike during my first run through of the game. If you took time to really dig into the game you'd realize these points. Not to say it's not without its faults because even for a grindy game it's very repetitive without animations to break up the monotony. But as far as your issues listed goes, there's easy explanations and reasons for why things are as they are.

As someone who played Pokemon Planet before PokeMMO, I honestly agree with a lot of your points. Pokenexus is an entirely different experience. I'd like to clear up some stuff though. 1. Pokemon Planet / PokeNexus has a baseline rarity on different Pokemon aside from legendaries, it goes from common to extremely rare. Shinies are 1/8096 and extremely rares are around 1/5000 if my memory serves me right. Generally, the more powerful the pokemon, the rarer it is. Stuff like starters and pseudo-legends are extremely rare. It's the main reason why the game prompts everyone in chat that a person encountered one. 2. Yes you can get shiny mounts 3. While you can reroll both evs and ivs, you can't change a mon's nature. 4. The exp cap in the game is honestly insane. It takes AGES to level up a Pokemon to 100. 5. You can't fly. You need to manually bike over cities PokeNexus feels unpolished especially if you've tried PokeMMO.

This is not cool at all man. Pokenexus is in a critical state atm with the new arrival of all gen 7 pokemon. As a big name MMO youtuber, you have a lot of impact on the community, so the least you could do is to make an effort when making this kind of video. You clearly have no idea how this game works, yet you act like you do. It’s because of videos like this that people don’t try out PokeNexus, which in my opinion is very entertaining at the moment. If you look at smooge or other youtubers playing both games, especially concerning the pvp aspects, pokenexus is less ‘dry’ than POKEMMO, so if this was an attempt at reversing that trend, I’m quite disappointed as a Patrouski fan.

I can't blame you for hating on pokenexus, as you said just an opinion. However I wouldn't advise making such impulsive opinions without even considering several aspects. You beat brock because you had a squirtle...50 pp on tackle won't end your life... etc. I can agree with your implication of a p2w aspect when it comes to credit shop though, but these items aren't untradeable, they can still be bought in game with pokemoney. Overall I would suggest just backing up your opinions with some solid reasoning, or put yourself more in the mind of someone who has 0 exp with mmo's, and you just want to start out the game for fun. More explicitly, don't review games that you have already made up your mind about before playing with an open mind, especially if you don't think well of it. Just some feedback for future videos, so if something like this happens again (this video ending up in pokenexus server), then at least you won't sound like you want this game removed. Now using the same points you mentioned on stream the other day, what makes you saying PokeNexus is the worst MMO more acceptable than people saying that the shiny wars are bad? I'm not being malicious, I'm trying to understand your viewpoint whilst also pointing out some hypocrisies. A couple of people mentioned how it's totally fine for people to voice their displeasures regarding the shiny wars to which you responded that it can be hurtful to people who really care about it and the game. Specifically people who were using the words "worst event" or "horrible event". How is this video any different? Of course I disagree with this stance because I believe people should be allowed to voice their displeasures just as you are doing here. Again this is not an attack on your character whatsoever but people should be allowed to voice their displeasures without being muted or having comments removed. The outright toxic comments I absolutely agree on you taking action on those but some people have tried offer an opposing opinion whilst also being 'censored'. I'm sure it must have been a heat in the moment thing but I still think it's unfair to block people when they are being blunt (like you in this video) and not toxic. There's a difference of voicing your displeasures on your own platform or in a neutral space VS on someone elses platform/space. If people want to make their own youtube videos or social media posts saying PokeMMO Stinks with little reason or logic thats totally fine. But once you start posting that in MY comments it becomes different. Imagine if instead of making this video where people can control their experience, skip things, click off, etc. I went to every other Pokenexus video just shitting on the game in the comments. Its also important to understand social setting and whats the goal at play here, i hope i qualified and stated many times in this video im mostly just expressing my feelings and even then i wish i would've offered more solutions in this video looking back after making a complaint. In regards to shiny wars, when im working very hard to make calm, reasonable points, understand the opposition and then people respond with "lmaoooo shitty whale event loool" then yes im going to delete those comments. BUT You'll probably notice on a video like this ill leave MANY more negative comments because its more deserved because my goal/tone when making this video is very different from when talking about shiny wars. I go through the comments and it is just sad, how people are so on edge to defend this game. There are so many better Pokemon Games and this one just seems to cash grab nostalgic people. But that's how every MMO playerbase reacts if their game gets critic, also on the high fence and bringing up the same argument - Guys, just play it 100h and it gets good. As a new player I would never touch such a game. Hardcore P2w store (it seems like EXP boost is needed to enjoy the game), UI is unintuitive, there seems to be no updates on the sprites animation (oh it doesn't even have ones) and the list goes on. I'm just wondering what they're doing with the money, the whales put into this game? @patrouski it is never bad to have an opinion like that! Keep up the work. Even if you put in 10h, people would have complained.

There’s a reason why people defend the game. Multiple points he made in the video were either incorrect or were made just to try to bash the game for no reason. Take your comment for example. Everything in the store is available on a market for in game currency. The gm ticket (exp boost and more) is almost always bought using in game money (not from the credit shop) and is also a reward for multiple different achievements.

I actually prefer this than any other pokemon mmo games because its portable, perfect for breakhours at work or just to kill time. I love how grindy it is and there is no too much nonsense in it specifically just focuses on hunting a good poke and playing PVP plus it's absolutely f2p you can grind everything in game, which is what I only need to enjoy a pokemon game. To top it all off it has no "BREEDING BULLSHIT". In conclusion, it's a chill and super grindy pokemon mmo game.

I started playing this game around mid-2018 because I was bored one day. While going through the early game, it seemed pretty straightforward, like a regular Pokémon game. The grind from Kanto to Unova was really easy; I only spent around 200 hours getting all the Pokémon to defeat the gyms and the Elite Four. After that, the next step for the player is really about getting items, money, achieving all the achievements, and dexing all the Pokémon in the game. I find that this usually becomes a big slump because you pretty much have to grind to get all these things. The player base in this game is usually composed of people who have played for a very long time and have the right experience to play the game efficiently. I'm somewhat not a fan of this because, from what I recall, some of these people are either weird or just douchebags who look after themselves. However, there are some people who are really nice and helpful, guiding new players. I used to play this game A LOT in 2020 and 2021, and I feel like that kind of destroyed me physically and mentally because of the player base. I created some enemies during that time, so I quit to stay away from those jerks. When I played in 2020, I often described it as the "Great Purge" because many mods were banning people for the most stupid reasons, sometimes with no reason at all. Fortunately, the moderation has improved, so that's a bright side. I find this game really hard when it comes to making money since it has limited money sources. The primary method is mining, but that's bad because everyone uses it as a tool to compete with each other, from noobs to pros. The game has a weird economy when it comes to items, especially decorations or mounts, which significantly determine their value. The problem is that the admins deflate the economy so much that players have little to no money to spend and have to grind their way back up slowly. One thing to note about the comment section is that most people who already watched this are from Pokenexus and are trying to defend the game, lol. But this is my opinion about the game based on my experience. I hope you read this comment well. Thanks.

UGLY world, UGLY UI, Bad xp grind, resetting PP> LIke if you have nostalgia for a game i get it, but for new players, this looks horrible. I'm a bit sad because you have some great points, but imo they just don't come across right in this video. I did not like PokeMMO or PRO and I really enjoy PokeNexus because of the late game aspect, and I tried watching your PokeMMO videos to see why you defend that game so much when I had such a bad experience with it, but I wasn't successful in finding a reason to try it out again. That does not mean I like everything about PokeNexus and especially not the UI, the biggest problems of the game aren't even mentioned in this video. I really wish you put more effort into a video like this about PokeNexus and actually made a video that would be helpful for this game to progress, but I understand if you wouldn't want to spend your time on this game since you so obviously don't like it.

I hate pokemmo it took the fun out of Pokémon and that experience of being the main character. 1 Gym poke can curb stomp half your team and make God like guesses in battle. I used to play pokemon planet/nexus in middle school i tired to get back into it in early high-school and i recently tried to get into it again being a graduate and I just cant like it again, the game requres way to much grinding on the johto elite 4 and that was the reason i left back in middle and high-school i just dont want to sit around and slowly grind all my pokemon i also have exp shares on all my mons and it still takes ages so i moved to pokemmo

dont forget when they do updates you may lose things and unless you have a purple name for having donated over $1000 USD, in which case you get your stuff. I lost over 100k lle (legendless encounters) from their updates. Purple named players constantly harass other players and then the players they harass complain and get banned. The game has some real potential ruined by greed. You can only obtain honey which boosts encounters through tournaments that we all literally know who is gonna win before the tournament starts and even then you get like 1 maybe 2 honey which last one hour of game play each. Or you can buy them with real money. Those are the only way to generate honey in game. Yes you can buy honey others have already generated at extremely inflated rates as well. The community will always hold this game back cause no one is willing to give up their privileged positions to create actual equality where you play for merit. Those who spend the most/use the most gift cards get the best time on the game. The dev needs to make money I understand, but to just create a toxic community to get paid kills the game. heck the game is a decade old and hardly anyone gets on the game even during events.

@futur3ndings651 no cause I know a few mods personally from being in a clan with them. I have 80k lle now. I had 200k. The math is simple. I was on the top 20 for over 200k when I ran into my last leggy a jolly xern. I lost 120k lle cause I made a big deal of it when I left. Two leggy poles in a row to take over 200 k bringing my average to roughly 210k lle per legendary. I was falling way outside the average and they then took lle from me. Is shenanigans. It took over a month of playing to get that with a family and a full time job.

@@chriskirk9708 I'm confused here. You said you had over 200k prior or after finding the Xern? LLE resets after you find a legendary, so you'd lose the 200k it took to find xern. Which is why I'm lost because you said you had 200k when you ran into xern. Inferring you had it prior to finding it. So it makes sense you'd lose that LLE if you didn't know the system, continued playing the event while gathering LLE again only to see it's not well above 200k anymore. And with the current update you no longer have LLE for event legends so every player would lose this not just you if that's the issue as well.

I am in fact sad you did nothing to improve your experience. Nearly everything you need to know is written in the chat you minimzed. Instead you rant 5 minutes about not being able to fight a trainer again without even reading the info saying you can only battle every trainer once every 24h (which i find fine).

Played pokemmo and pokenexus both, spend a lot of time in Them. Is both has it good and bad sides. Biggest difference: pokemmo chill and pokenexus is tryhard. Pokemmo didnt give me a challenge while a lot of people are stuck in pokenexus cause the E4 are that good. Pokemmo you cant have legendary’s. Pokenexus you can catch Them with an encounter rate of 1/200k. Its just what you prefer to do.

Hey, honestly, I wanted to watch this to see which game I should grind, but your review seems extremely biased. Are you sponsored by PokeMMO? I've played about 2 hours of each game, and you're completely trashing this game. It's a good game, and you can play it anywhere. It seems like you clearly missed out on that crucial aspect. Also, there's a UI setting. Don't get me wrong, PokeMMO is definitely a more polished and complete title, but your review on PokeNexus is horrendous and just wrong.

This was my first Pokemon MMO game, and i absolutely despised it, i forced myself to make it all the way up to surge, but after just barely losing and having to wait to rematch for the 10th time I gave up. Im glad this game didn't completely turn me off from Pokemon MMO games as i eventually got back into it with Pokemon Revolution and then eventually PokeMMO. I'm glad to see that the seenthis game has barely changed since I've last touched it

Imagine not going to diglet cave and getting a level readied ground type in dugtrio that can sweep surges gym instantly to continue gameplay. lol Literally you can get halfway through Kanto within two hours or less of grinding.

@@patrouski That's wild. PokeMMO definitely has more thought and love put into it. Pokenexus kind of feels soulless. It DEFINITELY looks soulless and kind of cheap. Lol. The PVP seems like it may be pretty cool though, given it has the newer Gens. But that's about it. W take on your part I would say.
