Roza is such a sweet lady!
She grew up in a small village in Irkutsk region and moved to the city. She got married and was very happy. But the tragedy happened.
She decided to come back to her home village even it was completely abandoned by other people...

Моя родина... там много солнца. Но там - очень холодная и длинная зима! 6 месяцев устойчивого снежного покрова и минусовых температур, до минус 45 зимой - запросто! даже с Уралом не сравнить. И очень мало что из овощей и тем более фруктов можно выращивать (если честно - выращивать фрукты вообще невозможно, хотя у некоторых умельцев на самом юге области что-то получается)

I think it's easier for a woman to be the sole survivor in this village, easier than for a man. Physically, the female body is more insulated, buillt for patience and endurance. High altitude mountaineering literature supports this. Psychologically, women seem less prone to addictions and more inclined to support and nurture the small things that make up life. Such as forgiveness. Culturally, women have been historically excluded from becoming examples of these virtues.

I felt sorry for her at first. But she has a large family. She seems to want to live this way. Older people are stubborn. There's nothing you can do. The problem is, of course, she's going to get too old to manage the work. I hope when that time comes, her family offers her more help and that she will accept it. That's a hard life. She does a lot of physical work to keep things going. And in that cold! It's going to be difficult when she gets older. I wish her all the best. Despite the harshness and cold, it's such a beautiful area. And that horse is gorgeous!

Yes, it is alot of work. But as someone who lives with an elderly family member, I understand how good it is for them to remain active and somewhat self sufficient as long as possible. For their health and their pride. No wasting away being treated as a child. Not good.

I can relate to her story, and it is not easy to live in a village where it is freezing during winter, but God is good to her, she has dogs, animals like cows and horse., these creatures makes her life easier and manageable., I admire her strength and outlook in life. Sorry to say, if it's heavy for her, that horse looks old, has to be heavy for them, other than that, this woman is blessed beyond means, to live by herself & not be bothered by loud neighbors or neighbors right beside her. I was born not far from her cocation ( in Irkutsk Sity - the capital of this territory ) . The place is beautiful indid , however weather is harsh in winter ( 6 month of snow and ice, very cold in December and January) . Winter there is harsher when in some places in Alaska, maybe just nothern Canada could be compared.
