My favorite Christmas quilt in the one of my great aunt chain made. It was made in the forties old old materials and old stuffing. I constantly. And I'm always using it it's the most comforting thing I ever had ever had

Love the new Fabric Parade! Personally, it really helps me. In the Fairs, I always entered the Handsewing & Embroidery starting in Elementary School. I always won, but I was no Miracle Child--LOL. I was the only girl with several Great Aunts who wiped the field every year in tatting, hand sewing, embroidery, quilting, crochet, etc--So Great Mentors!! They were Tough & taught me to sew like a true Victorian woman.

Thank you for all the videos and talking about matching colors. When I was young I entered the fair with crochet. My girls entered for years in the local, state fairs. They also sewed wool for the Make It With Wool (garment) contest.

I was a 10 year 4-H member as was my mom & son. I LOVED 4-H. I was mainly involved with the cooking (foods) & clothing (sewing) projects. I did a few other crafts. 4-H clothing is where I learned how to sew. I'm eternally thankful! In fact, or county f fair status this week & Open Show is next week...i I think I'm going to enter a few of my quilts & possible a couple of cross stitch pieces.

A black light flashlight (about $10) when shined across white patterned fabric, will show the design very easily. Great to bring along when shopping for white patterned fabric.

My kids won ribbons and prizes over the years with artwork, flowers and produce. They also entered the turtle race with a box turtle that lived under our front stoop. He never won, lol. This all happened at a small town fair in the Midwest in the 1990s

"White" fabrics! There are so many, especially in lower lighted shops, that I miss because I don't see the pattern. Taking it to a window helps in a sunny day. I am wondering if something like the ruby beholder cellophane piece slipped in between the layers would help? I'll try it when I finally can get to a store!
