I rented a room on 13/2, nearly opposite to Panowla 3 years ago, for 3 months. This was prior to the Covid shutdowns. A I recall, I paid about B8000/mo The VERY loud music from about a dozen bars was unrelenting every night until 3AM and even after the music stopped, there was almost always yelling and hollering by wandering drunks and drugged up LBs from several of the nearby bars. I can honestly say I never had a decent nights sleep my entire 3 months there. (except for a couple of Buddhist holidays when the bars were closed)

My exact thought, when you have a decent place to sleep and shower for the first period, it gives you al the time of the world looking for something different. Then the second month, upgrade to something else. All the time keeping an eye on what I really liked or did not like, my actual cash outlay, etc. I know what I can afford, but still, it is good sometimes to go low, before going higher. It may make you appreciate your next choice more. You can walk to many hotels and pay each day something such as 60 bath to use their pool.

Basically these places have different levels of basic accommodation like nothing other than a bed and shower with small wardrobe, plus safe or plus microwave but no kettle or daily clean. I don't go on holiday to have to scrimp and save and make my own bed or sweep and clean so I think something more like D Apartments with kettle, safe and drinks with water, even though more expensive is as low as I want to go and no additional charges for electric and water, so I am glad you showed this video as it shows what I am not missing. That middle place, an OYO group, has many places all over Pattaya, just put OYO rooms pattaya into your address bar for a full list, from £280 for 28 days in normal times, not sure about now. Great information every time Loucous.

Go stay in a decent small hotel for 400 baht a night and take a taxi to the beach for a few baht. Living near the beach is not important. Public transportation will get you there in 10 minutes. Go upscale a bit and save yourself a lot of aggravation if you aren't gonna stay more than a couple weeks. If you are willing to pay 500 baht plus for a meal in a decent restaurant and spend 2000 on bar and girl fees, why are you worried about the price of a tiny room in an old building? The first night you can't sleep because of the noise will convince you to change your priorities.

Bring an extra cheap towel or two to mop up the floor after your shower. I don't mind a one use all bathroom, but yech. And of course some of those side streets are awfully noisy until late at night

Great video showing really cheap options. I think they’re not really apartments, but furnished rooms. I’d like to see a video on something between these rooms and condos. I imagine there are nice one or two bedroom apartments with a kitchen for around the 6 to 9000 baht per month, maybe in the suburbs or even downtown.Personally I’d much rather live a bit away from the center and sleep at night ! These rooms must be really noisy with all the partying going on downstairs ! Better to live a bit away from all the bars and take taxis !

Covid has made really nice rooms in modern condo buildings very affordable. 8000 baht rooms are now 5500 to 6000. I watch the real estate ads in Pattaya all the time and prices are way down. Desperation. Thousands of rooms empty. The Chinese and Russians invested a lot of money here in the past 5-6 years and they are getting no return. 3 month leases and good deals on longer terms are easy to find. Why stay in an old building on a noisy busy narrow street when you can stay in a decent hotel or condo for only a couple thousand more a month and have better neighbors, a pool and a gym? Not to degrade what this video shows. Some people are willing to stay in a small room for short periods just to come and party on holiday. Up to them.

Lucas, you have changed my accommodation mentality 😊😊😊 .. Definitely, on the next trip to PATTAYA 💔💔💔 I will stay in a CONDO instead of paying tons of money for HOTELS ... Question: When Vee's sneeze. Is this a sign of HUNGER? 🤣🤣🤣.

These seem perfect. Was looking at a condo for 3 months but i think an apartment would mean i could do a year easily at that price.

Sitting here on 60mb in the UK, 326mb in Thailand, I would move to Thailand for the internet speed alone :-)

I love those places with a balcony looking down the street and many places look much nicer inside than the shown ones but cost a bit more.

I think I stayed at that last one in 2012. At the time a foreigner operated that place if memory serves me correct? Anyhow, I enjoyed my stay. Cheers.

It could have been great if those places had a safety box. In a condo you might not have one, but there is a security guard and a code...

So are the rooms ever rented out by the hour? Any reasonable Apts with nice views? Cheers!

great informative video.the bathrooms in the first 2 seemed to be a lot smaller than you get in a condo.they were the type that your knees are knocking on the bog and you soak everywhere and everything including your bog roll when you get a shower.i thought the 3rd one if it had aircon?was the best .it had a larger bathroom, shower curtain and was in a quieter location.the noise on soi 13/2? the second one would drive you mad if you lived there .the fist one was great for the price and not too bad a location.

Wow. Its worth knowing about these so you could have a second base to use for shorts. To be honest I personally don't think I would want to live somewhere lie that on a long term basis.
