Excellent options for those on a budget. Those hotels are great. there is so much to see and do in Pattaya. That hanging out a hotel makes no sense. Just bring ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones if you are near the main central party area ! I was right beside triangle bar last year. I loved it but I also loved my ear plugs too.

Everyone loves a deal and to be close to the action. Two great choices. Vee is getting powerful drugs to help with the cancer. They do not make you feel better for a day or two. I am so impressed with her courage and will to fight this. She is a strong woman who I admire for her fight she is waging against this terrible disease. I’ve watched your videos for maybe 4 years now. I find that your appraisal of things is generally right on the mark……whenever I visit Pattaya (I live in Chiang Mai), I make it a point to experience & sample of the venues that you’ve previewed on your channel…..I feel if it has R4K’s seal of approval that is the unquestioned gold standard of approval. I feel for both Vee and you as she continues to endure what most people simply can’t imagine. It is encouraging to hear that she is improving and I hope for the best for her. During the darkest days of covid at it’s worst you still managed to come away with a positive take on things (helping feed needy people, showing the magnitude of covid’s impact on the Pattaya community, showing how people could help, etc.). In all of your videos that I’ve watched, I’ve not seen any mention of health insurance for expats. I recently had a less than satisfying experience with a Thailand based broker and the company I applied for coverage with (initials are P.C). I was told the application would be processed in 7 to 10 days…..it took about a month. I felt like I was being treated like I had leprosy. I am 65 and in reasonably decent health in my estimation. The level of coverage they were willing to extend to me made it more cost-effective for me to self-insure because of all the things they excluded from coverage. I was wondering if you or any of your associates had any recommendations of insurance companies and possibly even brokers. Once again, your videos are very informative as well as entertaining.

I find the convenience of a bar that rents rooms by the hour for napping a great way to keep patrons from sleeping at the bar. Many a night filled with drinking I’ve thought if only I could just get a quick nap in, I could keep partying all night! 😂

Suggestion for a next video... "What can you do with a 1 baht coin ?"... make a video about that. Like, you can fill a water bottle at the local machine (reverse osmosis), and you can show viewers how-to. Then, with 1 baht you can use the scale outside every 7-eleven or Family Mart. You can also use coins of all size when buying a food card at the food court (Central, Terminal 21, ...). And many other things ! Don't pay any part of your bar bill though with coins unless you want to be labeled a Cheap Charlie looool (another good tip 😅).

Hi Lou, Im coming in May for my first trip and the agoda prices online are thru the roof for something by the beach in Jomtien...Im weary to come stay for a couple days someplace THEN book somplace else with my feet on the ground...I'm worried there will be no rooms for me and ill be left staying someplace i don't want to...Am I overthinking this or is a place like The Grand Jomtien Palace always have rooms available for the month (when you see them in person) even if they say they don't online?

hi, i have recently returned from my 21st trip to Pattaya and i can tell you for certain that the best way to do it is chill out in a pre-booked place for a couple of days while you look for somewhere more suitable, you are coming out at the start of the low season so there will be plenty of rooms available. there are a large number of private hotels that don't advertise through the agents so you will have a variety of standards and prices to choose from. there are thousands of places to stay from 300TB a night to 10,000TB per night, really no need to worry, you will have a brilliant time and your biggest problem is likely to be deciding when your next trip will be! P.S. have a look at Hisotel on Jomtien beach, right on the beach and the rooms have great views, the suites are even better with a wrap around balcony. have a great trip 😊😊😊

That is very possible that they do not offer all their rooms to online booking sites. I think you are safe in the month of May. That is the real beginning of low season and there should be rooms everywhere of every type 👍
