It turns out they're a variation of Chinese Century Eggs and are prepared over a number of weeks by being sealed in a mix of clay, ash, salt and quicklime. The pics on that page also made me even more nervous about trying them…they may be Pink on the outside but they're Black once opened!

Hallo Juergen. Ich war schon vor einer Woche in Pattaya für ein Wochenende und bin wieder zurück nach Bangkok. Als ich aber am Donnerstag erfahren habe, dass am Freitag ein Lockdown wahrscheinlich wird, hab ich mich auf mein Motorbike gesetzt und bin wieder nach Pattaya. Mal sehen was ich hier in der nächsten Zeit machen werde. Vielen Dank für deine Nachricht und liebe Grüße in die Heimat... 😊🙏❤️🇹🇭
