The roundabout at Naklua is next to Dusit Thani, where they arranged PTT Pattaya Open, WTA tournaments for tennis, for many years. Some of the best women players in the world attended there, I really miss those times. I still play on their courts from time to time. Thanks Tom, nice ride! Btw, I liked the last music sequence😊😊

@@Bax60 Tennis is one of those sports for all ages. But I do see that you need to be able to move around 😊 PTT Pattaya Open had players like Ana Ivanovic (former nr.1 in the world) and Vera Zvonareva (former nr.2). I used to play with Noppawan Lerchteewakarn, who actually won Wimbledon girls singles in 2009, but she never really broke through as a senior player. She plays double handed both backhand and forehand, with a grip shift, so its in fact more like double backhand on both sides. Never seen that before, pretty amazing. Thailand has had a few great players, Paradorn Srichaphan was ranked 9 in the world 😊 My late husband was a Norwegian tennis coach, I learned so much from him. Sorry for all the off topic, Tom, and guys 🫣 but I just want to point out that Pattaya (and Thailand) is so much more than its reputation. Tom can certainly vouch for that 😊

I understand your frustration, here's a video I did where I explained when I finally decided to ride a motorbike in Thailand. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ap6afJmpg9SGa6csi=ojlc_mAv8-W86Ih0 I was worried about driving on the wrong side of the road but it didn't take me long to figure it out and now it seems more natural than driving on the right side like in the USA. Personally I don't recommend anyone to drive motorbikes in Thailand who questions the decision. But if you do, please drive cautiously, gain confidence, and definitely expect the unexpected. I hope this helps.

I don't think a lot accidents happen but the do happen. Generally, because of the lack of helmets for instance they seemed to be very tragic.

The thai girls get by 3 on 1 with no helmet .But i bet if expats blast by the cops with a ball cap on they dont like that maybe ?l keep noticing that you never see the cops ,except that one time the guy on foot checked your licence .This place is great ,looks like you can pretty much do whatever you want .

The police have regular checkpoints like in front of the Soi 9 Police Station. Dolphin Circle around 0100-0300 on weekends plus so many more. The funny thing is I remember the days of 3+ on motorbike with no helmets. In Pattaya, it's not the norm anymore but I still it especially around schools. It use to be only farrang for instance were checked at checkpoints, today it's more of quota system, like every 3rd, so you see everyone being stopped (Farrang & Thai). I never chance the obvious like driving the wrong way on a road. There's no doubt in my mind there will be 1 cop waiting for me. hahaha
