Thank you Lin, your videos and teaching are wonderful. I am a very experienced sewist but have never really taken pattern designing seriously until now and your method of teaching, works great for me

Hello Jin, you are very clear. How does the bottom hem facing work on this pattern? Does it fold up? Thank you.
@PatternStudio101
@PatternStudio101 Жыл бұрын
Most of time, yes. You give 1.5" seam allowance at the bottom and fold up. Thank you!

Hi Jin. Thank you. I just completed the body pattern and I am wondering: on the hem, with the curves created by going up at the corners, how is stitching the hem supposed to be on a blazer with no lining. Because since it’s not a straight line, just folding the hem straight won’t work. Fold maintaining curve by creating gather? Or bring the hem line back to straight? (chich I believe would create pointy ends)

Hi, even if you don’t have linings, you need the front facing, and the round corner should be covered with the facing. I have videos that explain the facing and lining patterns.

Jin, why do you take out 1/8" on the shoulder line? Will it not create a flaw during the blazer sewing? Thanks for the video! Great explanation as always!

You mean on the back neck facing? When you wear the blazer, facing will be underlay. It should be slightly smaller than self. So it sits nicely.

Hello Jin. What about seam allowances? We’re they considered on the drafting? Or are they to be added after?
@PatternStudio101
@PatternStudio101 Жыл бұрын
Seam allowance is not added. You have to add seam allowance after you draft this way.

Hi Jin, thanks for your video! I wonder why we need to draw the lining 1/2'' higher at the sleeve armhole ?
@PatternStudio101
@PatternStudio101 Жыл бұрын
Once you stitch up the self, the armhole seam allowance will be stand up at the underarm point. The lining underarm point can not sit at the self underarm point because of self seam allowance. Does it make sense?
@marievideox

@@PatternStudio101Yes definitely, was always wondering why my lining at the armhole wasn't right, now I know! Thanks Jin

Hi can I use these measurements to draft a woman’s blazer?
@PatternStudio101
@PatternStudio101 Жыл бұрын
If you are making very loose fit, boxy jacket for woman, it would work. But this pattern doesn't make women's bust shape. So if you're making a fitted blazer for women, this is not the right one. Thank you!
