What is the difference between Namco and Namcot?
@Ruudos7 жыл бұрын
From Wikipedia: Namco's first original video game was Gee Bee (1978).[11] Galaxian (1979) revolutionized the industry as the first video game to use RGB color graphics.[12] It was Pac-Man (1980), however, that would become definitive of Namco's legacy, going on to become a fixture in popular culture.[13] Galaga (1981), a follow-up to Galaxian, was one of the most successful sequels of the era.[14] Dig Dug (1982), Xevious (1982), and Pole Position (1982) continued Namco's success in establishing iconic franchises during the Golden Age. During this period, Namco published video games for home consoles and personal computer under the Namcot brand name.[6]

Looking at Atlus they had to make some meh games to keep the doors open. That can really help bring a score down when half of their games are LJN titles like Karate Kid, Friday the 13th and other licensed crap. Meanwhile on games that they made and were pouring their heart and soul in, they had some damn solid games even back then. Most of those titles never came to US shores until WAYYYYY later though.

He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. a LJN Defender"

@contrapassose7en7 жыл бұрын
@GForceFGT It's refreshing to have a different point of view for once in the retro gaming community. An attitude like yours is what is cancerous, not the LJN defender's. If you can't understand that some gamers can have fun with Z-rated games in a cheesy way like what some cinephiles like in watching bad films then you are the problem not Cygnus. www.hardcoregaming101.net/kusoge/kusoge.htm This cultural phenomenon predate the AVGN by a couple of years at least, though it is difficult to establish a precise timeline, in 2000 it was already existing.

This is very biased, and why gamers have different opinions along with the AVGN. We like nostalgia because we went through being kids that don't buy things. It's a contradiction that the book has ratings because they're too biased.Ian is different where he works at a store and might wonder why somebody would buy such a crummy game, but sometimes the customers buy games that didn't appeal to him. It's the real question if a game is good or bad, because some people may enjoy a game or enjoy beating the game. Ian may see several people buy a bad game and wonder why they enjoy it and it's because that game isn't something he's interested in.That being said, promoting the book is sad, due to it being biased on personal favorite games. Both Ian and Pat have some very bad games they rate high. It comes across as annoying when they constantly promote the book as if they're experts when you don't see them playing the games from beginning to end, yet they rate them so easily and constantly try peddling off this book.
@contrapassose7en7 жыл бұрын
The analytics are kind of disingenuous because it compares very common games with rare (or rarer) games without giving the numbers. The very common games certainly have a considerable number of games while the rare games are RARE, so a small number of games (it's easier to influence the mean). With the majority of the unlicensed crap is rare, did anyone was suprised that the MEAN is shittier for rare games? Study should have take out the unlicensed crap. When you have to compare the MEAN of 2 sets of data, it's always a good idea to suppress the extremely aberrant data (both good and bad) because it will fuck up the math, especially if your sampling size is small. When you look at uncommon/very uncommon games VS common games, the difference is really small, which tend to proove my point. The NES library was very solid and this is one of the reasons it lived for so long.
@skins4thewin4 жыл бұрын
Wait, what?? You gave TMNT Tournament Fighters 4 1/2 Stars? The fuck?? That game is garbage, and most would agree on that. If you're rating games with bad taste or something, then that doesn't make this a very viable source of info...

@drupy19927 жыл бұрын
I would recommend to Ian as someone that has delt with many doctors, lives in constant excruciating pain and is having his hip replaced at 24yrs old to not seek any pain killers. Because you don't appear like someone in so much pain that they couldn't even sit and talk on a podcast. Just to be clear I'm not saying you're 100% faking but I would expect doctors to think you are since you haven't had a single test validate your claims (unless I didn't hear you were diagnosed recently) and you don't come across as someone in that much pain if any. Even being filled with surgical hardware and needing my hip replaced ( I'm looking forward to it the 27th) I have been treated like a junky by doctors because of my age. So just a heads up and I hope you aren't faking because people like that are the reason me and many others have been treated badly for trying to have our pain managed.
@Gulyus7 жыл бұрын
Stomach pains they treat differently. Shit's painful. My 31 year old sister has been handed drugs like they were candy for like...6 years. Though I DO live on Long Island. And still not 100% certain she needs 1% of what she has.
@drupy19927 жыл бұрын
Gulyus Things are way different in Arkansas. Most doctors refuse to prescribe pain medication instead they send you to a pain management clinic. In my area many of the pain management clinics will only prescribe a week's worth of medication at a time and you have to come in for drug testing and pill counting every week in between the visits to receive your medication. I know pain better than many and Ian's current behavior doesn't fit with the stories we've been told of his situation. Something just isn't lining up about the whole thing and that's why I think he might start having his doctors turn on him and treat him like he is faking.
@pxlsicle7 жыл бұрын
Cool special power being able to ascertain someone else's pain level through sight. I haven't asked my doctors for a damn thing other than a diagnosis. leave the passive aggressive bullshit elsewhere.

Ian Ferguson Behavior says a lot. I live in a disabled only apartment building and I see a lot of people in horrible pain everyday and we all share similar mannerisms yet you don't really. That could mean nothing at all but then there is the fact you have made $27,000 off this "illness". Everyone should have a healthy suspicion of you when you profit from it and you're still undiagnosed. It's also strange you're in enough pain to incapacitate you to the point you can't even sit and talk for money yet don't even ask about pain management I guess that shows your pain can't be that bad. And boy as a disabled person I wish I had a successful KZbin friend I could ride the coattails of because even I could do that.
