Patti and Céline are the only ladies I know of who have perfected the cry technique, which from my understanding from vocal coaches is a more advanced belting technique due to it being more primal singing. Their ranges are insane.

There is no one else like her and there will not be another Patti Labelle. God broke the mold. I’m genuinely happy for her. Queen Latifah didnt even bother to approach the mic. She knows she cant compete with these ladies, so she just gracefully stays put. I loved hearing Fantasia SING in her lower register, very beautiful and w/ all the amount of runs and the extras she always put on. Yolanda Adams was just class as well as Jennifer. They just add some adlibs and that was about it. Miss Patti did the job like it was supposed to. 👏👏👏👏👏

She doesn’t use her chest as much as she did in her younger yrs . Yes she uses her head voice more now days . Her Chest voice I believe isn’t as strong as it use to be but she still uses it when she needs too I’m sure . It just depends on the day and time of day and weather etc . She protects her instrument . She knows she doesn’t have to prove anything anymore lol and still shooting out high notes better than young folk

She's an amazing vocalist both live and in the studio. Check out her recent duet with Morrissey, it's titled, Bobby don't you think they know? If you're interested I can also recommend some great songs from her catalog. She's always been a powerful live and studio Sanger.
