Robert Marks 🙄 Beyonce and Ariana Grande are excellent singers, in fact their top five for this generation. Vanessa Williams can't even sing. This was 1991 and I just want to say I don’t think we will see a category with singers like Patti, Aretha & Gladys again because these 3 did something that many of their peers couldn’t do. They all started in the 60’s and they were forced to get younger with the times to survive in music. This was the 90’s so they were all late 40’s early 50s in age. To still be in such high demand that is amazing. Most artist have to grow older in their music with time which is hard but these ladies had to grow younger into eras they were not born in that’s harder!!

Patti and Lisa were actually the best. Burnin' was a good album with some notable songs on it ("Somebody Loves You" and "Burnin") and Patti was due at that time and "How Can I Ease The Pain" was the biggest record in the bunch and great powerhouse vocal. The others, while good, didn't really stand a chance that year. It made sense why votes were split between Patti and Lisa.

Lisa had a very short run as a solo artist but she must be among one of the best dressed women in music I remember since back then. I would love to know who styled her back then cause her "all black formula" is so quintessentially 90ies ...yet so fresh and timeless! All this variations of all black outfits were off the chain. @@JAZZLlFE ....yep....i remember the rapper Foxy Brown saying that Luther loved her so much....they became friends...and he practically bought out everything at the Chanel store for her to wear....she tried to refuse it and he cursed her out....so she relented and they stayed friends...i forgot which one...but a male rapper said Luther loved his work...and started rapping his songs to him...curse words and all...the rapper said it freaked him completely out hearing and seeing Luther curse....lol....he tried to get him to stop but he kept going....lol....he too got mad gifts from Luther...mostly Versace....he really was mad for Versace....the designer was mad for him too...he gave Luther tons of clothes...and he designed the sets and clothes for one of his tours...i remember everything was...white...and gold...stunning....Luther and Elton John have performed spontaneously at Veraces' store in New York when Gianni was there....Luther loved clothes...it always made me sad when he was big because he loved clothes so much and he really could not wear the stuff he really wanted to wear even though people were saying that he sounded better big...he really loved being slim better....he just was an emotional eater...food was his addiction....God rest his soul....now i am going to get in big trouble for saying this....but if he were still alive....LISA....would not be the size she is now....Luther would not have it....she would stay slim...to work with him....
