Jackie was the nicest, sweetest to everyone, hotel people and certainly Patti's fans. So pretty and sweet and unassuming as she helped in so many ways. She handled the sales of Patti's t shirts and products. In the 80's in Memphis, between shows at the Orpheum, where Peobo Bryson blew off the roof and then Patti sent it to outer space, I volunteered to help at the sales table. It was my friend Carol's birthday and she had 'lost' a bracelet I got her so 15 minutes or so later told Jackie I have to help Carol find it as she wore it there and was upset she lost it. We found it fast and Jackie must have told Patti - she asked for Carol from the stage -and sang " Happy Birthday" to her at the second show. She made sure I got several Patti signed pics and was ALWAYS so nice even when incredibly busy. She had 1000% confidence in her sister and her talent. I am so happy to have known her a little as she felt so good Patti was getting the recognition she so deserved. One Christmas, after Jackie passed, I sent Patti a Christmas card and my little gift was sharing another wonderful Jackie story Patti would not have known showing Jackie being her wonderfu self and no one knew. I know her passing was incredibly hard for Patti. Jackie most definately knew how much Patti loved her, and that love was mutual.

Her sister passed away a long time ago. Some wounds never heal. The best of us can get stuck in one of the transitional periods that come after a loss or a death. Invoking someone who you know loved you can give you a focal point to grieve additional loses and regets in your life. We all love Patti Labelle. It is amazing what audiences will endure. There is no doubt she is one of the special voices that has blessed the world. We need to preserve her.

The story she shared about her sister, Ms. Jackie, & The raw heartfelt emotion in this performance would've automatically brought me to my feet, I can't believe only that sweet heart lady in the back, in the pink shirt, was the only person compelled to stand & applaud our beautiful legend, Ms. Patti Labelle👑. I pray one day GOD releases Ms. Patti from the guilt she Carry's in her heart about the fight her & Ms. Jackie had before she died🙏🏿 #SelfForgivenessIsTheHardestFormOfForgiveness🌷💕

LAWD HAVE MERCY!!! This Lady can draw out a song like no body's business while still keeping the energy and passion going. I could probably listen to a single song for as long as she could sing it. Just wow. A National Treasure. DAMN!! Ms Patti is a gift to the world.

It seems of the three sisters she lost, she really felt it when Jacqueline died because they were closer in age than her other two sisters were.
