I saw her in concert in 1994 and she sang this song. When she walked away from the mic it was amazing how her voice carried through the theater. Great!

She was 50 here!!! 50! Singers today losing their voices In their 30s and early 40s but Patti was and still is going strong in 2017, albeit not as strong as she once was but still strong.... Love this performance. The power and pain in her voice

Patti's voice aged so beautifully. I can't think of any other singer who actually kept getting better well into their 60s. And she still sounds good today in her 70s!

The thing that amazes me is she was in her 50’s and had an AMAZING voice ! And to this date with 73 years of age Patti LaBelle still delivers !

Patti was touched by thinking of her sister Jackie who passed and was crying as this song could describe their relationship.Jackie was always in Patti's corner especially in the early 80s before she passed wanting Patti to get the fame and recognition she so deserved and wanting more for Patti. Luckily after songs New Attitude and Stir it Up and Patti's Winner in You Patti's star was ascending to its righteous place as no one worked harder than Patti to give awe inspiring shows and performances and Jackie got to see and know it was happening for her beloved sister. Jackie was so special, kind, nice - funny, pretty and after meeting her at Patti's shows you would soon know she was Patti's hero ! When a song is sung with such honesty, humility and beautifully through her life's eyes it is perfect.

To all the negative comments, U may think this wasnt one her BEST performance, but if ur paying close attention, Mamma was extremely emotional in the beginning which caused her to have difficulties with her voice. So I think, the reason she decided to pull tricks out of her bag is because she felt the need to redeem herself. Note Patti love her fans, and constantly aims to give them the BEST, and that's what she felt she had to do in the nic of time!..I personally think she did a GREAT job.

Patti will tell you that kegel exercises are essential to maintaining your voice. A tight cooter leads to flexible chords.
