Both of you are awesome review authors. You have confirmed my choice for my next review with your in depth and objective opinions based on your professional experience on a variety of wheels. I know it’s close to impossible to include all current wheels in category but since I have a preorder on the V14 this was very helpful to me and I appreciate that. I have the V12HT,V13,and an MTEN4 but am not afraid to venture in to purchasing any brand based on the wheel that fits my riding expectations. Since I am primarily a trail rider the V13 was a very poor choice for me and I wish I had a review like this to guide me then but hats off to you gentlemen. Thank you.

For what it’s worth, the “waterproofing” on the extreme is only about the controller. First time you get it muddy and have to hose it clean, you better cross your fingers! The “seals” on the motor are tiny, thin and poorly fitting. Additionally the suspension components turn to poop once you get some dirt and water in them. I’m speaking from experience as I currently have my extreme completely disassembled to replace the motor bearings & build proper weather seals. I’m also working on the suspension sliders as they are pretty scratched up. I’m actually pretty disappointed with the build quality for something they brand as “extreme”, specially considering I have only 350klms on it!
@WheelGoodTime11 ай бұрын
Yeah the bearing is not "extremely" waterproof sadly. I am rather careful about that when applying water anywhere near my bearings. I don't ride in any rain no matter what, if I can help it, on the extreme.
@grb196911 ай бұрын
Both Extreme and V14 need FastAce type suspension in addition to the linkage suspension but they decided to screw up their sales figures instead with incremental improvements. Dual suspension would allow for a plush feel on-road and tight grip off-road. Dual-use/dual action/dual zones would allow for more control on various surfaces, and thereby eliminate the need for duplicate wheels.

@WheelGoodTime10 ай бұрын
I noticed virtually no difference in width between them all - it's fairly minimal if you ask me. I 100% recommend a Grizzla fairing system and pads to increase ride comfort. But I have to admit that it does increase height - but that helps with seated riding a ton. Personally, I love it that way 🙂

The extreme will start beeping at 52mph with a 200 lb rider in race mode. It also just released new firmware that lets you choose how much field weakening you want. Which is terrifying as well as exciting. So you can basically pick where your power band is. I’m not going to be the test dummy on that feature though. Im sure someone is going to crank up the weakening to try and get a new high speed.

@@Dave-cf4vd sag is definitely an issue when riding at high speed on the Extreme - but it's a much bigger issue when the battery state is lower. 50S batteries really come into their own at low battery states because they have noticeably lower voltage sag. It's funny, I ended up switching my order over to the Lynx instead of the V14. Much more money, but all of the amazing reviews for it sold me. I can tell I'd really still like to try the V14 at some point though. I feel like it might be especially fun for jumps and tight circuit stuff. I'm not there yet with my riding and that's a pretty niche part of most people's riding anyway, so the Lynx makes more sense to me overall. That said, the V14 is making my wallet nervous, lol! I don't need to be buying a $4k Lynx and then buy a $3k V14 6 months to a year later... I'm worried it could happen, ha! Lots of good comparative data. However, kind of hard to compare 3 wheels in this completely unscientific manner when there can be so may variables with pads and settings for shocks and software. In my experience it takes a lot of trail riding to tune in a suspension and wheel just the right way for the right terrain. You can make a wheel feel completely different by changing a couple things and peoples personal wheels are dialed for them for the terrain they favor. I still appreciate the intel. Of these I have an extreme and have had 3 different shocks on it now with 4 different coils. I have tried a Patton and haven't had a chance to try to Adventure yet. The Patton I really haven't had a chance to really test it and just rode it momentarily. But my friend who has had some issues and it's not the easiest to tear down from what I understand. So it would be good to compare how easy or difficult it would be to perform maintenence or do a tire swap.
@mkygod7 ай бұрын
23:30 I feel like turn signals on a wheel are almost useless unless you are able to control the turn signal before making the turn. They need to make some kind of hand clicker device (like they make for horns) so that the turn signals can be manually activated by the rider. And also, the turn signals need to be wider apart than what you see on the extreme for it to be effective.

This video was released almost immediately before they released those upgrades. The 50S version is objectively better than the 50GB battery version, but the firmware is no different to take advantage of those 50S cells. The only difference you'll see between a 50gb and 50s version is less voltage sag on the 50S version, and significantly better resale value on the 50S.

@s0d4c4n10 ай бұрын
Um, ok, I was too excited and re-assembled my wheel even though I wasn't done with my updates. The new soft mode feels amazing. To my surprise, comfort mode (sport mode off) kicks the torque up yet another notch. I think InMotion is confused because responsive pedal dip (which I believe IM calls "comfort" and "softness") is essential for multiplying application of torque, whereas overaggressive pedal correction "hardness" or "sport" actually works similar to tilt back, counteracting rider lean and making the wheel feel sluggish.
@s0d4c4n10 ай бұрын
I would combine comfort and softness as the real "power assist", I would combine sport and hardness as "stability" for beginners or if you don't want your headlight to dip. I would delete the original "power assist" or rename it to "Pisa mode" because it feels like the engineers messed up and the wheel is slowly falling over.

The V13 is almost exclusively made for road riding, and higher speeds are where the V13 shines because of its larger wheel diameter. As a beginner EUC rider, I think you may regret getting over of the biggest EUCs in the world without trying every flavor of EUC riding available to you. Let me put it this way: I use my extreme more than my master pro because it's suitable for nearly everything you want to throw at it. I don't commute to work at 45 mph on it like I do on my Master Pro, but I can keep up with traffic no problem going 35 on the extreme. The same is the case for the v14 and Patton. You can do so much with an 18" euc such as these that you are unlikely to ever "outgrow" any of them, ever. But you may find yourself wishing you had a more trail-friendly or jumping-friendly EUC someday if you go with the V13. Hope this helps 😊
@WheelGoodTime10 ай бұрын
Also, I still wouldn't recommend ripping their the rain and snow if you can help it. Sadly, Even though the V14 is waterproof, they won't give you a replacement motor/bearing if water gets inside and ruins things. Maybe I'm just chicken, but I am a bit of a fanatic when it comes to protecting a big investment such as an EUC, and I've gotten a ruined bearing on my old v11 from riding in a single rainstorm. So maybe I'm just overreacting because of that incident... But still 😂

I will tell you this though, they are both extremely fast accelerating wheels and you won't be disappointed with either. If you're trying to look at just voltage for life of the charge you'll see it go from 100% down to maybe 85% and then back up to 99 or 100%. The battery charged looks like it jumps all over the place because the battery meter is simply looking at voltage which is a terribly unreliable way to measure remaining capacity on a battery. No rubber to seal it off. Especially around the buttons water can go through. You cannot judge sag from the battery indicator on the screen. How many times does the screen refresh. How many times does the controlboard send the battery voltage to battery indicator. Maybe the Patton guves a more live feed of the voltage. The Extreme and V14 maybe don't or are very slow. That is why the battery indicator on the V14 and Extreme do not drop that low. The turning lights are gimmicks and aren't smart at all.

You guys are trippen if you think the Extreme only does 40 mph. Even in Ronin's video he hit 50. Chance hit 50 before too. Smh

It can go that fast, yes. You're right. I believe I put on an on-screen correction when we discussed that segment. 😊
@ConsilienceDVO11 ай бұрын
@@WheelGoodTime yeah, but you framed it like it's "possible" like it was a hard thing to do. I see people doing 40 +mph on it with ease all the time. Just feel you're underselling the Extreme's top speed for some reason. Go look at Ronin's video again. He hit 52 and see what he has tp say about the power. That was with the old firmware too I believe. Just feel that was very inaccurate even with the on screen correction.

I admit that I don't push my extreme's speed super hard because the voltage sag is EXTREMELY bad. I have a strong sense of self preservation and so when I see it sag that much, it makes me not push the speed so I don't accidentally Chooch it. But of course I strive to have the most accurate info possible! 😊
@ConsilienceDVO11 ай бұрын
@@WheelGoodTime I can understand that, but Chooch was also using the 40t cells which was not a good idea for what he was doing. I watch your videos a lot. Just was wondering why you would put a begode wheel at only 40mph. They haven't made a wheel that slow since the RS19 HT. Other than that I could agree with everything else.
@WheelGoodTime11 ай бұрын
@@ConsilienceDVO tbh it's all about the voltage sag for me. It's so heavy on my 50e version that I don't push the speed very much.

You lost my respect immediately when you called them all 18 inch wheels. Better luck next time.

if I lose the respect of one person for being accurate and honest then I'm ok with that. Get out a tape measure and see for yourself their diameters of you don't believe me

@@WheelGoodTime is this that thing where EUC measure by the tire OD, not the rim OD?
@WheelGoodTime7 ай бұрын
@@Dan-gs3kg yes. All these wheels have an overall diameter of 18", but the rim diameter is 12" for all of them. But in the old days, 12" rim EUCs were truly 16" because they had a narrower tire. 🙂
@Dave-cf4vd7 ай бұрын
We should really call them by their actual diameter, ie 18", or the rim size, ie 12". Calling it a 16" is a relic from the bike industry, kids bikes no less. "16" is the least accurate descriptor, and no longer even found on the tire sidewall. Why not 12-3, then I know something about the cushion.
