The title of this episode is, "A Foggy Day in Brooklyn Heights" from 1965. This was the very first episode of, "The Patty Duke Show", that was actually filmed in Hollywood. The show moved from New York City to Hollywood, necessitating a completely new set and a new version of the show's theme song. Plus...the telephone number of the household is finally revealed...it's 624-1098! My sister and I watched this show back in '65 (I was in the 6th grade and she was in the 4th) and she just cried and cried and cried during this scene with Frankie Avalon. I kept giving her the weird eye! LOL! Have always been a big fan of Avalon & Patty Duke beginning in the late 1950's and early '60's.

This is so good! It still turns me on. I am so glad I got to meet Patty Duke before she died. She let me hug her and I got someone to snap a picture of the two of us together. She was so nice. I will always treasure my picture of us together. R.I.P. Patti. You were special and one of the good ones. I am glad I had you in my life for a short time. Love, Diane W

I am so excited to find out Frankie Avalon, Bobby Rydell, and Fabian are coming to do a show in Shipshewana in April. My girlfriend and I are saving our money, so we can go. It should be a good concert. I expecially want to see Frankie. I have loved this episode since it aired back in the 60s. It was wonderful seeing two of my favorite people together. I loved Patty, Frankie, and Eddie. I watched all the Beach Blanket movies and loved Annette too. I get so sad seeing so many of the people I care about dying young. I am glad Frankie is still alive and had 8 kids! Wow! That is what happens when you are sexy! Ha ha!

He also performed this song in the 5th AIP Beach Party movie "Beach Blanket Bingo," where it seemed somewhat out of place, given the upbeat pop focus of the soundtrack in that film. I have the sense his agent was working hard to get him some airplay out of this. A noble but somewhat hopeless undertaking, given Avalon, Fabian, Dion, Bobby Rydell and most of the other 50s idols were by then fading away under the onslaught of the British Invasion and Motown.
@lonehorseman098 жыл бұрын
very true. rydell did have a # 4 hit the previous year with "forget him." Avalon had not cracked the top 30 since 1962.

@@michaelmarshall2885 This was a song our parents liked then. We had one TV and my father was nice enough to let me watch "Patty Duke" while he read the paper. Then I had homework to do and off to bed.

How bizarre. The Patty Duke Show looks like an old movie from the 1930s... Unlike Cathy, I always thought Patty was so hip!

Well, if you were there, it really does look like and old TV show from the 60's, even though the networks all went full color soon after. Nice clip, though. I never got to watch this show. We only had one TV in the house and my parents must have been watching another channel.
