There's a reason why we got Vanessa instead of Ursula in this video, but you will have to wait just a little longer. But what I loved about this video was Izma. That voice... is EXACTLY like the character's. The next episode of Villains Lair is also a musical, but one quite upbeat, opposing to the darker and evil songs the villains have.

I don’t think you fully realize how good the actress - Anna Ricks - is. Besides her playing Yzma here, you have seen her before. She was Aurora in the Princess Academy. Remember doing the live action “Villains?” Anna Ricks was Theodora. And in Bump In The Night, she played Elvira. Anna was on a Zoom call where Layne and Tony were telling us what they put her through for Yzma . Hours in the makeup chair, then hardly able to open her eyes because of the eyelashes. But Anna said despite that she’d love to play that character again. So you may see her in upcoming episodes. As far as Ursula’s character goes - let’s just say Tony and Layne are always spot on with their casting.

I didn't know about the actress playing Yzma being Aurora too. It's so cool that actress is so versatile! Very cool insight!

I just realized a couple of important details about the Pattycake Production video that I hadn't before because I was so enamored with the harmonies: 1) VANESSA IS WEARING THE ICONIC GLOWING SEASHELL NECKLACE THAT WAS SMASHED IN THE MOVIE WITH SOMEONE'S VOICE IN IT. That means that either this is a time traveling Ursula who already went back to get her necklace back with Ariel's voice STILL INSIDE OR had another one on standby and has a new unfortunate soul's voice in the shell (if so, I wonder who it could be?). 2) The people in the song are all villains obsessed with controlling their appearances (like Cruella who is in to fashion, Facillier who creates manipulates people's opinions of him, Ursula who is a character that plays around with the idea of body types a lot in the original movie, etc.) and/or with personal beauty (obviously Gothel, Gaston, and Yzma). Smart decision on the creators' parts.

Very cool reaction! The commentary on Ursula is very interesting to say the least since I know what happens next. Also, absolutely, Yzma's character is very on point, and I do want to see her interact directly with Kronk more often. I hadn't previously realized Gaston might have literally hunted his bullies either...

I actually laughed out loud when you said you wished that Ursula would be a drag queen. I did not see that you’ve done a reaction to the Little Mermaid Medley by VoicePlay. In that, Geoff Castellucci plays the part of Ursula and he is fantastic. The woman who is with them and plays Ariel, performed Ariel at Disney for several years has the perfect Disney Princess voice. On her personal channel however she did a cover of Poor Unfortunate Souls. It was very good but I like Geoff’s better because he has really got a really evil laugh. Disney really needs to cast his voice as an evil guy somewhere. If you decide to watch one of their unexpected musicals, the woman playing Vanessa in this also plays Vanessa in Grande Mermaid.
