You should look into the Nerdy Gurdy! My hurdy gurdy teacher has a young daughter that plays the hurdy gurdy as well, and she has one of those. It’s small, so kid’s hands friendly, individual components are relatively easily replaced, so you don’t get a heart attack every time they manage to do something weird with it, and it’s a really solid gurdy for the price!

@@colinsmith5373 They are currently developing a new model, with capo’s, and of course they still have the OG model, both of which are very solid. My friend got to try out the prototype for the new design (she’s in the same class as the guy who designs the Nerdy Gurdies) and she said it’s a very solid and fun instrument, and my hurdy gurdy teacher worked with the guy to improve the wheel so it’s perfectly circular and gives a really good sound. Is it the setup? Is it the cute girl who sings this song? No, what I like is that this is a song played in a way that makes me cheerful and that I see all musicians having fun. It works in a way that makes me wish to be there to join in the fun. And yet the song sounds well arranged and performed by people who know what they are doing...
