Bill Walton is hilarious!! Usually given to hyperbole, Bill Walton is spot on with his analysis of the trade. If you liked this one... you'll probably like this one too: • ESPN Stephen A. Smith ...

+Koh Smoger people keep bringing up championships it's not all about the rings from 97- about 07 they had multiple seasons where they won 12 games or less some of the worst seasons ever even with Pau they never even won a playoff game and a few seasons with Pau missed the playoffs during the Marc Era they won 50 plus games about 3 seasons and advanced in the playoffs That alone creates a foundation for a franchise Lebron haven't won a ring with Clevand but considering there history pre Lebron no one can say It's not a success because when you go from winning 10-15 games every year to 40-50 it's a success really it's only about 6 teams that won rings the past 20 years or so

Other than the rights to Pau Gasol's younger brother Marc, who would become a future All-Star, defensive player of the year, and All-NBA player with Memphis (but that couldn't be seen at the time), Bill Walton was right...they gave up NOTHING! Pau Gasol played 6-plus seasons with the Lakers and got then 2 titles, The other players in the trade were an aging Aaron McKie (who was just signed to a 10-day contract), Kwame Brown (out of the NBA by 2012), and Javaris Crittenton (out of the NBA by 2009 and currently serving 23 years in prison). For Lakers to get rid of their worst player that the Lakers home crowd were booing every night for all his fumbles and turnovers and to turn that into Gasol was the greatest feeling ever and out of nowhere. What made it great was it was totally unexpected. No rumors, nothing.
