I love Yao he was so tall, powerful and skilfull. Pau Gasol had better passing ability, rebound ability and 3 points shot than Yao though. In short, he was a more versatile player and had a much longer career. Also with 2 NBA rings being the co-star of the team after Kobe. Gasol also made Spain win their first ever FIBA World Cup and was selected as the MVP of the tournament. If Yao is HOF, I have no doubts Pau will be too in the future.

there's a good reason why Shaq had said Yao could have been one of 5, yes 5!!! greatest center of all time if not for the injuries which we all know is due to China forcing him to play every summer instead of rest and do those maintenance surgeries which Bynum for example gets every year.

they play two completely different positions, Gasol's more of a forward than a center, but Yao is a legitimate center. Also, to be fair, Yao is 1 man, Lakers have Gasol, Kobe, Bynum, Ron Artest, etc.

4:20 Así de impresionante era Pau Gasol en su prime, que velocidad!! Siempre fue muy talentoso, su repertorio era muy grande, con gran asociación e IQ alto. Me ha sorprendido Yao porque normalmente cuando te encuentras con jugadores de tal envergadura (dudo si hubo alguno más grande que Yao) lo normal es que sea un jugador patoso, con muchos problemas de sincronización. Yo vi jugar a Yao en su momento y tuve y mantengo que Pau era superior técnicamente, pero independientemente aquí veo un Yao MIng con un talento tremendo, muy bueno en ejecución. Prácticamente imparable. No creo justo compararlos, no entre al vídeo por eso, pero voy a hacerlo 😂 Solo destacar que Ming con ese físico y su habilidad era casi indefendible. Como lo paras!! Como lo atacas!? Ese era Yao Ming. Y por otro lado pues un poco parecido al menos en ataque (en defensa Pau tenia sus recursos pero no llega a Ming), ves atacar a Gasol y piensas… no va a ser posible que entre a canasta, que supere ese muro. Y lo hace! Además Gasol era más completo, con su inteligencia conseguía más para su equipo. Jugadores extraordinarios, no por nada ambos Hall of fame. (Lástima Yao por no haber podido tener una carrera más longeva, aún y así logró el HOF)

Bynum is not a good example, as you can see this season he has been out and from his start in the NBA all knew how injury prone he was. We can argue the same about Sabonis he could've been the best center of all time but USSR overused him as he personally said once. Anyway we can't argue based on suppositions but in actual facts and the fact is that Gasol has accomplished more, maybe Yao could've been better center but his career in the NBA was too short. I'd like to see him more.

Gasol has better % of shot of 2 points that Yao. Alone Yao has better % of free shots. Yao uses few more at that the body if it(he,she) does not look at the videoes of his(her,your) better plays and despues looks them of pau, and has the one who has mjor movement of feet.
