@ricoyochanan9 ай бұрын
Jesus never said the gate is narrow only for 1st century Jews. It does not follow that a teaching from the Jewish past is no longer applicable today. Consider: 1Co_10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. If anything, the gate is becoming more restricted. Think of the last 20 years; almost half the churches in America have gone woke, the Pope blessing homosexual couples, Episcopal, Methodists etc promoting LGBTQ doctrine. And Europe the same and even more.

I made a video on Jesus being a Jew or not? So I hear what you say. When it comes to the law, this is how I understand the law. I believe from Genesis that the 10 commandments have always been there since Adam. Even though we only read about sabbath and marriage it seems plausible there they were part of the 10. The first attack by Satan was on the authority and the Word of God. You will be like God, he said. Jesus came to undo the wrong of Adam. That's one of the reasons why He came to this earth. The other reason why Jesus came was to destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8 Knowing this, the commandments have nothing to do with being Jewish. Long before the Israelites were born there were the commandants for mankind in general. Only when the Israelites received their land to be a light to the nations, God through Moses would give laws to live as a nation. Hence the reason the commandments were on stone, written by God's finger and placed in the ark of the covenant. And the laws were on a scroll next to the arc. Deut 31:26 All human beings whether they like it or not live under God's commandments. Why? We will all be judged by it. Why do you think the books will be opened? How are we measured by God if there is no rule? Even the kings of the enemy are judged, Dan 5:23-27 Revelation 12:16; 14:12 shows us two marks of the followers of Christ. Those who keep the commandments and have the faith of Jesus. Keeping the commandments and having the faith of Jesus shows who you truly serve. So today, the commandments show us which God we serve. The true God or the false gods of this world that is ruled by satan. But that's only how I read it.

Wonderful! Maybe I got it all wrong but it kind of sounds like that when Paul got baptized into Jesus, he had this fact revealed to him that the covenant holder died that he could marry again as per Romans 7, to get married. So he became under the law of Christ, the new covenants holder. He made a wedding agreement with the new husband that raised from the dead. As with Matthew 22 and the marriage supper, he told his servants to go out and get everyone to come, following suit with Isaiah 54, 55, 56 to bring the Jew, the 10 Northern tribes, and the gentiles into marriage. Convincing The jew that the covenant was ended by the husband at his death according to the law, convincing the 10 Northern tribe scattered abroad that they could come back in to covenant because they were no longer considered adulterous as the covenant holder died. And to the gentile that was kept out my various laws of cleanliness and un circumcision, that they also now could get married Jesus and begin to fall into obedience and covenant of Christ being baptized in Jesus name, into the marriage covenant / New covenant with the law written on their hearts to do them. That we might live long and enjoy a more abundant Life through obedience to Christ Jesus and love our neighbors as ourselves or hopefully better than we love ourselves. The goal was to get them to understand how through the death of Christ as he was the covenant holder sent by God, but the old covenant being shredded allow them to sign and do covenant marriage agreement with the same covenant holder that arose from the dead as the new man/ new husband After all the law of God is perfect, converting the soul! Hallelujah, thank you Jesus Having met a homeless guy on the street, he was exhausted, many days bad addictive choices left him completely distraught. As we begin to talk a little bit, I did my best to make him comfortable and speaking with me. During our conversation and repeated multiple times that he just wanted to go home, he was tired of living on the street and the streets had completely exhausted his mentality capacity. When asked where he lived why he doesn't go home, he replied that he can't go home because his family is very religious and he has not made his confession before the priest in a couple of years. Understanding then that he had been a member of a Catholic family in a Catholic Church, I convinced him and he didn't need a priest, because he had a commitment to the high priest and that he could make his confession right there before God on his knees. He bowed his head and raising his hands to heaven again to make his confession pleaded with God for forgiveness, further asking God to take away his addiction and to restore his home, that he can go home and be received and peace. Tears ran down his face, the clouds that were overhead began to sprinkle lightly around us, and I took him home to his family and they received him. We prayed together, and I Departed, thank you Jesus. Understanding how the Catholic system works and the confessional processes that they teach, I utilize the things that the Catholics teach to set him free. In Jesus name Because he had gotten out of covenant with the Catholic Church and his family, he truly believed that he could not talk to Jesus without first making his confession to the priests in the church. Once it was explain to him that those issues were not of any consequence to God, it was clear to see that all things had changed between him and God and through the tears running down his face! Hallelujah glory be to God

"Paul doesn't regard himself as a Jew, because he's not." This is classic eisegesis. Using this logic has consequences. Observe: Gal_3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. Using this video's line of thinking, males are no longer males and females are no longer females. But we know that after believing in Jesus, men remain men and women remain women, and by force of logic, Jews remain Jews. That's why Paul attended the Temple, not because he was play acting. Jesus never told the Jews to abandon the Temple or said a word against it.

Doug wasn't taking about Galatians but rather 1 Corinthians (they're different contexts), by your logic, how can Paul say 'to the Jews he became like a Jew' in 1 Corinthians if he is one already? He's not play acting when he becomes "as one without law", is he? So why would you think he's play acting if he decides to "become as a Jew" when he's around Jews? So if he's not play acting either way, what is he? I say he's a Christian, not under the Law and therefore is free to eat and associate with whomever he wants. He can "become a Jew" or "become as one without Law" because he's a new creature in Christ, not a Jew or Gentile. If being a Jew means under the Law, which it does....than Paul isn't one.

Luke 8:4-18 NASB1995 When a large crowd was coming together, and those from the various cities were journeying to Him, He spoke by way of a parable: “The sower went out to sow his seed; and as he sowed, some fell beside the road, and it was trampled under foot and the birds of the air ate it up. Other seed fell on rocky soil, and as soon as it grew up, it withered away, because it had no moisture. Other seed fell among the thorns; and the thorns grew up with it and choked it out. Other seed fell into the good soil, and grew up, and produced a crop a hundred times as great.” As He said these things, He would call out, “He who has ears to HEAR, let him HEAR.” His DISCIPLES began questioning Him as to what this parable meant.And He said, “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is in parables, so that seeing they may not see, and HEARING they may not understand. “Now the parable is this: the seed is the word of God. Those beside the road are those who have HEARD; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that they will not believe and be saved. Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they HEAR, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away. The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have HEARD, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity. But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have HEARD the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance. “Now no one after lighting a lamp covers it over with a container, or puts it under a bed; but he puts it on a lampstand, so that those who come in may see the light. For nothing is hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light. So take care how you LISTEN; for whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has shall be taken away from him.”

@@gomadarwish9858 Great question there. In some sense they overlap. The Law God gave to Moses had temporal symbolic elements in it and functioned on the basis of looking forward to a better covenant. God's Law-in the universal, overarching sense-was contained within Moses' Law in the moral attitudes it commanded to love God, but not the ceremonial and ritualistic aspects. In the sense that it was from God, it was "God's Law," but it was an Old Covenant that had an expiration date.
@louiserasmus65689 ай бұрын
For Paul God's Law was now Christ's Law or "Lawful of Christ". The Law of Moses was a form or expression of God's Law for those under the Old Covenant, but not anymore neither the 10 Commandments or Words of the Covenant which were the "terms" (Exo 34:27-28) of the Old Covenant.
