Absolutely wonderful song.... His poor tired voice somehow makes it more poignant.. .Like a cross between Satchmo and Tom Waits... Rock on Paul.

Randy is good...but not capable of this. Look up the history of northern ireland. My late sis ,a teacher, said that this song should be on all syllabus for pupils on both sides.

@joebrowne9217 It's beautiful. But RN certainly capable of great commentary. It's just he does alot of it through acerbic jewish humour. Paul obviously does it though Irish passion. Both have there place. But both can deliver killer pieces. Randys "Sail Away" should also be on the curriculum (if it wasn't for the naughty word used as a highlight in the song) more recently he (RN) did a song called Wandering Boy about a grown up child who went his own way and doesn't see his father. Its an absolute heartbreaker of a song like this.
