Reminder: This game was made in the 90's. And it's still highly relevant.

A lot of the cause and effect of globalism was already studied in the 70s. Most of it still hold true today.

@@mdd4296 Thing is. Critics against globalism in western media is really taboo, nowadays it would be even harder since they could accuse you of being an alt-right conspiracy theorist. Just look at how they catalogue Cultural Marxism (Critical Theory) as an alt-right conspiracy theory, even though it never was one, and every academia and marxist ideologist was calling it a legitimate thing.

It's only gotten MORE relevant. It was also released a year before 911... and how does the game start out? xd

The most modern thing it spoke about is making a government with an AI at the top. Until that happend which might be 60 years from now, Deus Ex will always be futuristic.

Watched my dad play this on his PC in the early 2000s, I just cared much about the gameplay but didn't realize until over a decade later, how political it was. This game pretty much taught me about government and freedom more more than my high school government class would.

It's pretty damning when a video game this old predicts just how out of hand Big Government becomes.

Spoiler alert the governments in this game get manipulated by the CEO of a corporation.

So big government to make big corporations. Hand in hand.

This game basically was what if all 90s conspiracy theories where right? Turns out a lot of them where right.

It's good that this game has no bearing on reality at all. Right?

I remember this game when i was 15 its still one of my favorites. Alot of truth bombs were just dropped in this game and is still relivent in my life now .

I think he is talking about a global government, not a global economy. In my opinion, having a world made up of independent small states working together economically is fine. Its when hierarchies are made where the problems begin.

Exactly, hence we ain't like the Borg from Star Trek, or Nazi Germany.

I wouldnt call this economic globalism

I have my doubts on opposing globalism, but even then, I'm not gonna brag that. Too sensitive enough to leave things well silent for now while enjoying this clipshow.
