I had the pleasure and honor of taking a seminar with Pendekar Paul and Maha Guru Victor at the Magda school circa 1993. Assisting was Burton Richardson, and in attendance was Uncle Bill de Thouars. 2 days of great training. This clip is a view into the smooth yet devastating technique of this master. Enjoy.

It's indonesian traditional music. If you want to know more, feel free to come to indonesia. You will find more traditional music and more pencak silat styles

@Aiden Fisher when I talked to Pendaker, instead if learning Bukti. Dan wants his kali better, Pendaker got tired if fixing his kali. Pendaker want to teach Bukti not kali, so Pendaker kick him out n stop teaching him. Some of wat u see Dan lesson is from Bukti influence, hubud, kapala, etc. Dan just re-label n rebranded it. Pendaker taught just basic kindergarten techniques, doesn't trust Dan motives.

Many years ago, Guro Dan wrote an article about Paul De Thouars for Inside Kung Fu entitled "The Deadliest Man Alive?" I wonder if this was shot around that time. Amazing to see this slice of history and skill.

I attended the first seminar in Virginia when Dan first introduced Pendakar Paul and his brother Victor to the US. Maybe 1985, maybe 86 or 87, (can't recall). :) Paul was the bull in the china shop, while Paul was gentle and tended to use your own force against you. I remember Victor saying, if you get hit, so what. lol

I had to use these same moves in about the same speed in my senior retirement home. I grabbed the last chicken wing at the buffet and this crazy old lady lunged for it. I blocked and dropped her. Her girlfriend (97 years old) came at me too so I flipped her out of the way. Grannies were flying all over the place at that dinner time. I now live in a tent outside.
