When you heard the voice of Paul Harvey on your radio, there's no way that you could touch that dial, except to turn UP the volume! No matter how bad your day might have been, listening to his broadcast could actually lift some heaviness off of your shoulders and give you a touch of hope and even a new perspective on things. What a true blessing it was to listen to this man throughout the years. I only wish that I would have done it more often while he was still here. There was only One Paul Harvey....... "Good day!"

@@jeffreyclarke736 I'd agree with you knowing what we know about the Bush family today being part of the swamp etc. However at the time of this interview I was much more optimistic about W myself, in all honesty. It's 1 of the "Lesser of Evils" best examples, W vs Gore or Kerry, with a no vote basically a vote for the left. I guarantee feel similarly towards the Bushes as you do, but I'd vote for W easily over Gore/Kerry even now He's definitely a politics as usual Swamp dweller, but Gore/Kerry are all that on top of being America Destroying Leftists.......
@discernment89634 жыл бұрын
@AGZ Like I was saying above, even knowing who the Bushes are and what they stand for. It's not preferable to only have the "Least Worst" choice type of election, but it's still an easy decision over an anti American Leftist. The problem is so many Americans haven't been around long enough to have experienced a truly Pro America President, so it was like trying to explain sight to a "Stevie Wonder" type, who you could say did pretty fair without eye vision. Now & particularly another 4yrs from now the difference will be as obvious as being wet as if you'd jumped in a pool with all your clothes on, or dry as a bone!

I accidentally switched my radio to AM, back in the mid 90s and discovered Paul Harvey. Best mistake I ever made because I was pretty much a populist sheep, like everyone else who gets the news from mainstream media outlets. After Harvey, was Neal Boortz, who was new to me as well. Today, I believe Mark Levin is a voice that needs to be heard by more people, because his knowledge of the Constitution and history is so crucial. Most of my family are still Democrats, but I'm glad I switched to conservatism 25 years ago.

I bought two of the Rest of the Story books shortly after Paul Harvey died because I couldn't stand the thought of being in a world without Paul Harvey. Because of the realization that when you listen to Paul Harvey, you don't want to stop listening. He had such an eloquence to his news briefs. And the rest of the story...Larry King hit the nail on the head. When you hear Paul Harvey on the radio, you cannot change that station. So when the delivery of Paul Harvey meets those brilliant Rest of the Story goosebump-inducing stories, what is honestly more perfect entertainment than that? And what great things to share with others. So now that my 9 year old can get an appreciation of The Rest of the Story, I use that now as her bedtime story. Walt Disney. Coca Cola. Col. Sanders. Each time watching her face light up with that look of being blown away...that must be what I look like when I first hear these stories. I love you, Paul Harvey. Thank you for making such a wonderful impact on my life.

He was legally blind by the age of 8, though he has always been colorblind. It was via the likes of Paul Harvey's broadcast that he both stood and walked his path, with grace and mercy having been bestowed/bestown upon/by him, and touched so many lives with his optimism, gratefulness, and kindness, willing to help others always, in any way possible, making a way for anything that had been impossible beforehand. I have listened to Paul Harvey for the bulk of my adult life. There are not many radio commentators that can match him. He has always been my first choice. Used to run milk routes back in the '60's. Had a radio in my truck that I listened habitually to his program very day. There were two different stations that ran his show at different times. I would listen to both so that I could try to pick up the parts that I missed while out of the truck making my deliveries. He is sorely missed in my world!!

Fasustina Smith. Agreed. When I see Oprah on TV, I have an instantaneous visceral response, and immediately head to my bathroom and vomit. I'm not fooling. And, I'm not kidding. When this happened, a well-known successful TV program was considering having her as a main character on that program. I loved the program and still do. But, my stomach said otherwise, when I had that visceral response. Fortunately, when I expressed my concerns with that popular TV program, she only appeared in 1 program, and a small portion on a 2nd program, and was never brought back.

I think I know what you two mean, but Larry King was talking about the power of Paul Harvey as an advertiser. His live reads were very convincing. Well whatever you think about Oprah, be fair on this, she has been a powerful advertiser. When she said she liked a product, especially a book, sales increased for that product. That's all that was intended. If you had something to sell in 2003, you would want Oprah to like it and tell her friends and viewers and her magazine readers about it.

Yes, I agree. Comparing him to anyone just cheapens him, I think that is a shame. He was a great man in many ways. Well maybe mister Rogers? Nah, I love mister Rogers and Paul Harvey but for different reasons.

I took many a long trip listening to Paul Harvey! There has yet to be any other like him. Not even Rush Limbaugh! And many a long night spent making donuts for my little shop listening to Art Bell! I miss them both.

Mr. Harvey and his wife, Angel, were winter guests at a resort where I worked in the late 80s. Every night they would come to the front desk so that I could let Angel into the hotel vault to retrieve her jewellery selections before they went to enjoy dinner in the hotel dining room. They were the most friendly, elegant, gracious people you can imagine. Their true class was that they could give a front desk agent, and all of my colleagues, the feeling that our interactions were enjoyed and our assistance genuinely appreciated. TOTAL CLASS!
