PAUL HARVEY - WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SIGNERS OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE

The signers of the Declaration of Independence led diverse lives after affixing their signatures to the document. Unfortunately, many of the signers faced various challenges and hardships. Some lost fortunes, endured personal tragedies, or faced political difficulties. A few were captured by the British during the Revolutionary War, and some lost their lives or their properties. However, their collective commitment to the cause of American independence remains a significant part of their legacy.

Thank you for posting this! Can't believe I'm the only comment so far. Our youth have zero idea about the sacrifices our founders endured to create this Constitutional Republic and remove themselves from British tyranny. I fear our great country is on the verge of great collapse...

Absolutely beautiful and thank you!!!! Independence Hall is so beautiful to me. They went with determination with the sound of their boots racing in a hast to tear down the British flag in Independence Hall and replace it with an American flag. True Patriots. Absolutely heroic and amazing.😢🎉

My Father R.I.P. used to listen to Paul Harvey way back in the day (70s), often times while working on his car. I inherited the enjoyment of Mr Harveys style and subjects. Just hearing Pauls voice for a second brought a flood of memories back. I'll never mistake Me Harveys "Good Day" for anyone elses. Thanks for posting this.👍✌️

As a now independent journalist, with close to 28 years of radio, TV, newspaper and magazine experience, I decided to become a news and public affairs host of my own podcasts in 2018 to present day instead of retirement from American society, which I could afford to do. My one and only goal since 2018, with God's blessing, is to continue to promote, protect and proclaim the Declaration of independence, the Bill of Rights, the US Constitution, and above all.. guard and protect the First Amendment.

The MEN that drafted, and created the HEART of America! Their accomplishments are so incredible that even 200+ years later their words draw thousands to this country every year. The clarity they had to write these declarations with such foresight seems to make them clairvoyant The comparison of these MEN to any other American since leaves the rest far behind. Truly amazing and my sincere gratitude and respect for their dedication to creating a COUNTRY that continues to be a beacon for people all over the world! Simply outstanding and awe inspiring

THAT IS BECAUSE IT IS NOT PROPERLY TAUGHT IN SCHOOL, IMHO. American history and our govt is taught like a series of facts, but the heart of the story-----the cause they were fighting for---has not been conveyed, and therefore, the Declaration has no meaning for people. It is sad that Americans don't know our history, what the constitution is, and how the Bill of Rights protects each and every one of us. What an amazing story, new and unrehearsed, America, a Republican democracy with THE RULE OF LAW PREEMINENT AND A PRESIDENT WITH EQUAL POWER TO THE JUDICIARY AND LEGISLATIVE BODIES. Washington, who was asked to rule for more yrs than he wanted, refused to be called"king" and willingly relinquished power. It never ceases to amaze me the beauty and majesty of our country and our govt. To see Anericans disparage it, destroy the flag, curse and vilify America makes me physically ill. And yes, that includes Trump, who demeans and demolishes America and Americans, especially veterans at every turn.
