I owned a cafe in Lithgow, Blue Mts, NSW, Australia. Paul Hester was playing in a band that was supporting INXS at the local main venue. It was the year before INXS went to America and became huge. He called in and had a meal. We chatted and he asked if I was coming to the show that night. I didn’t want to offend him so I lied and said I did but that I thought it was sold out. He took my name and said just give your name at the door and bring a friend. What a nice guy. And it was a great show, but to my embarrassment, the crowd were impatient to hear INXS and was not nice to his band. RIP.

Who would have known someone who appears so full of joy on the outside could be in so much pain on the inside. 💔

Andjulia I blame the greedy bastard who sued Men at Work and the judge who had no idea of music tradition.

I feel so sad that this guy is no longer around. How bad must he have felt to end his life ? What a loss to the world of music not to mention his family and friends. I saw him live in the best show ever at Bradford St Georges Hall in 1994. Missed but still loved.

Somehow, the world is a better place for having had people like Paul Hester around. Rest in peace.

R.I.P. Hessie. I spent some time in Elsternwick Park last week and sat for a while near where you left this world. I also suffer from depression and it terrifies me I'll get to that point. I truly hope you've found peace from those Demonds mate.

i saw crowded house in concert last week. i wonder if paul would have reunited with crowded house if he had still been alive ?. i thought of paul a lot during the show, and kept wondering what it would have been like if he had been there. i wish i could have met him too. i would have tried to meet him and the rest of the band after the show... i wonder what made him feel so depressed towards the end and what pushed him to do what he did ? .... it's so sad
