Lyrics: I can't fall asleep This loneliness wont let me go my thoughts drift off to you I wonder what you're doing at this moment Cause here tonight the rain is falling down Will you think of me When it gets around to you Half a world away I wanna be Half A World Away I wanna be Half A World Away I wanna be Half A World Away With you I wish I had wings that I could fly Across all those long and lonely miles But here I am tonight half a world away In your loving eyes I see my hearts reflection You speak to me alone With a language all our own when we're together. And I still feel the touch here in the dark But holding on to it is the holdest part for me Wanting you Half a world away I wanna be Half A World Away I wanna be Half A World Away I wanna be Half A World Away with you I wish I had wings that I could fly Across all those long and lonely miles But here I am tonight Half a world away Every letter you write helps me through one more night But my dreams seem incomplete Because the story can't end 'Till I hold you again in my arms In the final scene Half a world away I wannna be Half a World Away I wanna be Half A World Away Aww ... with-a-you I wish I had wings that I could fly Across all those long and lonely miles but here I am tonight, half a world away But here I am tonight, half a world away

Unfortunately, as a Jamaican this song brings back sad memories for me. A family friend tragically died, and this song played continuously before and at his funeral. 😢 Don't think the family ever got over his death. Infact, no one has. Just now I was crying inside and almost cried outwardly. Had to contain myself.. Smh. Songs evokes such memories and emotions. RIP my friend.
