The Bible says in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." This is not just written words in the Bible, but something I, as Paul, have experienced in my life. As a boy child I do not know anything about my dad. I have never seen him, so the only father I know is Reuben Kigame who has taken me in as his son even though I have known him for just about a year. My mother, Jackline Nanjala Wafula, passed on last year on 6th July (2020). It is a blessing to know the love of Pacifica, Mary and Brenda, my wonderful sisters. As a firstborn, this has not been easy. That is why I sing about the love God has shown me. It is greater and deeper than the love people can give.
It is my desire that as you listen to this song you too will come to experience this love. I want to tell all orphaned children, those from families with a single parent and all who feel alone that God loves you and will continue to love you. He will take care of you beyond what people can.
God has shown me love through many people and situations. First, my grandparents, Michael and Margaret, thank you so much for taking me in when I had nobody to take care of me. May I also thank the Catholic diocese of Kitale for seeing something good in me and taking me to St. Francis School for the Visually Impaired and the High School for the Blind. I thank all my teachers and especially Madam Phoebe Mwaura, for the support they have shown me in school. I thank my uncle Edward for believing in me and always being ready to get me everywhere I have needed to go as well as his patient heart. Special thanks to Auntie Isabella who has kept encouraging my talent of music, accomodated me at her house and been my ambassador to the family, showing them that I am capable of accomplishing much in society. Many thanks to Patricia Nandi for belieivnng in me and walking by my side as a mentor.
Last but not least, let me thank my new-found dad, Reuben Kigame, for seeking me out after he heard me and fellow students perform the "Huniachi" song with my fellow students at the High School for the Blind, Thika. He has received me and given me all the rights to belonging to his wonderful family so that now I have new sisters in Shalom, Shekinah and Shema and a real brother in Yeshua with whom I share a room during school holidays. Yeshua also shows me everything I need to know and takes me as his big brother. I enjoy cooking, music and playing with my new sibblings. I thank God for my new friends at the Kigame home, including Gloria Susan, Abouba Maya, Pervin mwaniga,Caleb Mujomba, Hillary Kwambai, Mama Wangare and Alfred Lisudza for the love and care.
