I'm a novice with technical Q: Why did Ricki not have to take the final putt to win?

At that point after Paul had missed his putt, Ricky could take Par and still be 1 up on McBeth so he elected to pitch up and tap in the Par. You’ll see it happens quite often in Pro tournaments.

@@ytlopsno Ricky wouldn’t have missed the par putt on 18. This is because Ricky decided to lay up the 2nd shot to literally right next to the basket. Ricky then could literally drop the disc into the basket. Ricky wouldn’t miss that putt 😂Ricky didn’t need to make birdie since Paul missed his birdie putt

@@yoda_bard_gaming1712 but the lay up could always take some bounce to roll or something. Even when its the best of the bests playing. The rule is just stupid imo. Ik ricky would not miss thing like that but something bad can always happen when your are under pressure.

@@ytlops I mean the green isn’t one to roll away. The only situation would be if Ricky hit the cage/bottom. If Ricky was really worried about that, then he’d either layup to the left or right of the basket. Since it wasn’t really a sloped green then the chance of it rolling away is minimal when laying up left or right of the basket. I feel like him going for it would cause a greater chance of it hitting the top band and it going 20+ feet compared to laying it up

Paul had several shots that was really bad thrown that should have resulted in atleast 5 less in round result. 2 guaranteed OBs but somehow not. Typical Paul when it matters the most 😂 Other than that. Really odd round. Kyle injured, Ricky injured, Buhr 12 under and gossage completely loosing it.
